South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Jennifers Room>
Chief Carter pushes Sam into Jennifers hospital room.

Chief Carter: "You're not getting out of this Quinn. I told you that I would arrest you if you didn't co-operate."

Julia and Amy stand up and gasp that Sam is there. Martin looks furious. He jumps up and goes over to Sam and punches him straight in his face. Sam, who still has handcuffs on, falls to the floor. Chief Carter grabs Martin and holds him back.

Julia: "Martin!"
Martin: "Damn you Sam! How dare you do something like this to my daughter?"

Sam lays on the floor and looks up at Martin. Martin glares down at him.

Martin: "You bastard! You did this to my daughter. Who do you think you are?"
Sam: "I didn't do anything to her!"

Sam struggles to try and get up. Martin kicks him and he falls back down to the floor. Chief Carter pushes Martin back a little more.

Chief Carter: "Calm down Mr. Randall!"
Martin: "I will not. This bastard hurt my daughter and he's going to pay. An eye for an eye, isn't that right Sam?"
Sam: "You stay away from me!"
Martin: "I'll kill you!"

Ellen walks into the room and sees Sam lying on the floor and hears what Martin says.

Ellen: "Grandpa! What's your problem?"
Martin: "Your father! He's nothing but a low-life scumbag!"
Ellen: "Don't you say that about him! Grandma...stop him."
Julia: "I cant."

Ellen goes over and stands with Julia and Amy.

Chief Carter: "Can I let you go not Mr. Randall? Can you control yourself?"

Martin nods and Chief Carter lets go of him. Martin rushes over to Sam and begins to kick him in his stomach. Chief Carter grabs Martin and holds him back.

Chief Carter: "Mr. Randall! I'm warning you. One more outburst like that and I'm taking you down to the station."
Martin: "That's right. You'll take me down for defending my daughter, but you wont take that bastard down for almost killing her!"
Julia: "Martin...please stop this."
Martin: "Help him up Chief Carter. He and I need to have a long talk."

Chief Carter helps Sam to get up. Sam and Martin glare at each other.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Cafeteria>
Dominique and Roger stand across from each other.

Dominique: "Why cant you just let this whole thing go, huh?"
Roger: "Because, I know that youre hiding something from Kyle."
Dominique: "I'm not...and even if I were, it would be none of your business and it shouldnt concern you. Don't you have your own life?"
Roger: "My family comes first for me and my brother is the only person in my family that I love. I'll do anything to prevent him from being hurt, lied to and stabbed in the back."
Dominique: "That's all fine, but I dont understand why you are so hell bent on trying to uncover a secret that doesnt exist."
Roger: "Dominique...it does exist and you know it. You can't try to hide from it. One way or another its going to come out. I'm going to make sure that I reveal it."
Dominique: "You're wasting your time."
Roger: "Well see."

Roger turns and walks away.

The Continental Country Club <Dance Floor>
Brittany stops dancing. She doesnt know what to say to Douglas.

Douglas: "Well Brittany? Where have you been? But, like I said. I've never seen you at any of these parties before."
Brittany: "Truth is, this is my first."
Douglas: "You do mean that this is the first Douglas Richmond party that youve been to, right?"
Brittany: "Yes...in a way."
Douglas: "What do you mean?"
Brittany: "I've never been to one of these big fancy parties at all."
Douglas: "You never told me your last name."
Brittany: "O'Keffe."
Douglas: "Where do you live?"
Brittany: "Right here in Watersdale."
Douglas: "I thought the only wealthy families that lived here were the Blake's and the Velez's."
Brittany: "They are."
Douglas: "Then why are you here if you're not wealthy?"

Brittany is shocked by what he has said, but she is also frightened that she might disappoint her mother and not get a rich man to like her. She tries to use her mothers past schemes to help her get through this.

Brittany: "Do you mean that you wouldnt want to date me if I weren't wealthy?"
Douglas: "No, I never said that, but you should have told me that you werent wealthy before. At least I would have known and wouldnt have been so surprised now. Don't get me wrong...youre still very beautiful and now that I've met you and been able to dance with you...I like you a lot more."
Brittany: "Really?"
Douglas: "Yes, and you know what? I'd like to meet your family."
Brittany: "My family?"
Douglas: "Yes...they are here, aren't they?"
Brittany: "Only my mother."
Douglas: "Thats fine...I don't have a problem with just meeting her for now...lets go...lead the way."

Brittany looks at Douglas and is hesitant to lead him to her mother. She thinks about what shell do. Douglas waits for her to begin her lead.

The Continental Country Club <Andrea's Table>
Andrea is sitting at the table drinking a martini and watching Brittany and Douglas dance. Jodi walks by the table and Andrea stops her.

Andrea: "Jodi! Wait!"
Jodi: "I thought I told you to leave me alone?"
Andrea: "You did, but you couldn't have meant it. I'm your best friend."
Jodi: "That's what I thought too."
Andrea: "What do you mean? I'm still your best friend."
Jodi: "No Andrea. You stopped being my best friend the moment that you opened your mouth to Brad."
Andrea: "How many times do I have to tell you that I did not tell Brad about your affair with Paul?"
Jodi: "Lower your voice before you let everybody else know, too. You're such a back-stabber. I can't believe you did this to me."
Andrea: "Then don't believe it because its not true."
Jodi: "I know Brad, and he can't be bluffing about this."
Andrea: "Where is Brad, by the way?"
Jodi: "He's not coming. He's home...drunk."
Andrea: "What else is new? But, anyway...back to the subject on hand. Why is it so hard for you to believe that I didn't open my mouth?"
Jodi: "Andrea...I don't have time for this. I'm only here to represent the Blake family so we can continue to have clout with the Richmonds. I don't even want to be here, but Brad forced me to come. Well talk more about this another time."

Jodi turns and walks away. She stands with a bunch of people and talks with them. Andrea looks over at Brittany and Douglas. They have stopped dancing and she begins to wonder why. She then sees them starting to walk towards her.

Andrea: "Yes. She's already introducing him to mommy. You go girl. She hit the jackpot with this one."

She looks very excited and begins to giggle as they get closer.

The Continental Country Club <Mens Room>
Paul and David glare at each other. Not moving a muscle. Paul finally speaks.

Paul: "Are you done?"
David: "It depends. Do you understand what I'm saying?"
Paul: "Listen, Mr. Velez, I know that you don't want your daughter dating my son, but I'm not going to try and stop them from seeing each other. If thats what you and that screwed up family of yours wants, then you can try, but I won't have any part in it."
David: "How dare you talk to me that way?"
Paul: "I'll talk to you any damn way I please. Contrary too popular believes I'm not afraid of you or your family. I never was and I never will be. Is that clear Mr. Velez?"
David: "When I'm through with you and your son, you will be afraid of me and my family...I promise you that."

Paul looks like he is about to kill David, but a man dressed the same as Paul walks into the restroom and interrupts.

Man: "Excuse me. Paul, I'm here to relieve you from duty. Charlie said that you have to be back in here to relieve me at nine."
Paul: "Okay. No problem, thanks Billy."

Paul walks away from his position and walks out of the restroom leaving David still standing there. Billy looks at David...he picks up the tray of mints and offers him one. David hits the tray sending the mints to the floor along with the tray. Billy is startled by this, but immediately begins to pick up the mints and throwing them into the garbage. David walks out of the restroom and catches up with Paul. He grabs him and turns him around so theyll be facing each other.

Paul: "Get off me you bastard!"
David: "I want to make sure of one thing."
Paul: "Don't waste your breath. I heard you the first time, and I already told you what I think and what my views are on the entire situation. Now leave me alone before I do something that you and I both may regret."
David: "Is that supposed to be a treat, Forbes?"
Paul: "Yes."

David is shocked and Paul turns and walks away.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Jennifers Room>
Martin and Sam stand across from each other glaring at one another as though they were about to kill the other. Chief Carter stands close to Martin, ready to grab him in case he tried to attack Sam again. Julia goes and stands next to Martin, holding onto his arm.

Julia: "I would like to talk with you as well, Sam."
Sam: "Right here? Right now? Don't you think its a little inappropriate?"
Julia: "No...it's the perfect time for us to talk. Ellen, Amy, will you please leave the room for a few minutes?"

Ellen and Amy look hesitant to leave at first, but then slowly walk out of the room. Chief Carter decides to leave as well. He removes Sams handcuffs and walks from the room to the hallway, closing the door as he leaves.

Sam: "How did Jenny get here?"
Julia: "Martin and I went to your house and found her lying at the bottom of the stairs."
Sam: "So, she fell down the stairs?"
Martin: "You pushed her!"
Sam: "I did not! Stop accusing me of such things because thats not the way it happened!"

Sam realizes what he has just said and looks terrified as Martin and Julia look even more furious.

The Continental Country Club <Andreas Table>
Brittany leads Douglas to Andrea.

Brittany: "This is my mother. Mom, this is Douglas Richmond Jr."
Douglas: "Pleased to meet you Mrs. OKeffe."
Andrea: "The pleasure is all mine Douglas."
Douglas: "You have a lovely daughter here. It's an honor to be with her."
Andrea: "Thank you, so very much. She is special, isn't she?"
Douglas: "That she is."

Brittany blushes. Douglas looks across the room and he sees a man motioning for him to go over to him.

Douglas: "Brittany, I'm sorry, but I have to take care of something. Don't go anywhere...I'll be back."
Brittany: "Okay. Take your time."
Douglas: "It was nice meeting you Mrs. OKeffe. Perhaps I may have a dance with you later on tonight."
Andrea: "Of course...it was nice meeting you Douglas."

Douglas nods and soon turns and walks away quickly to the other side of the ballroom. Andrea looks at Brittany as she watches him walk away. He is then out of sight and Andrea pulls out the chair next to her.

Andrea: "Sit down Brittany."

Brittany sits and looks at her mother, glowing.

Andrea: "You look very happy."
Brittany: "I am. He's so handsome, and so nice. I didn't think someone like him could be so caring, so loving."
Andrea: "What did I tell you?"
Brittany: "I know mother, and I owe you an apology. I'm sorry for being so pestimistic earlier. I should have believed that you would come through and find me a good man."
Andrea: "And rich...don't forget rich."
Brittany: "Yes, of course, but I'm worried about something."
Andrea: "What's that?"
Brittany: "What if Douglas were to realize whats going on here? That you forced me to come here so I could find a rich husband."
Andrea: "Just how would he find that out?"
Brittany: "I dont know, but I just dont want there to be any chance that our relationship could be in trouble."
Andrea: "You sound serious about him."
Brittany: "I am. It was like love at first sight. I never felt so...so...so...I dont even know what to say."
Andrea: "Just say thank you, mother and continue to dazzle, because before this night is over...I guarantee that Douglas Richmond Jr. will be asking you out for first date."

Brittany smiles, sighs and nods all at the same time feeling a little relieved. Andrea smilesfeeling accomplished.

The Continental Country Club <The Velezs Table>
David arrives back at the table that has been assigned to the Velezs. Santa, Jose and Lindsey are sitting there.

David: "You'll never believe who I ran into in the restroom."
Santa: "Who?"
David: "Paul Forbes."
Lindsey: "What did you do papa?"
David: "I merely talked to the man."
Lindsey: "Are you sure thats all? What did you say to him?"
David: "I did exactly as your grandmother asked me to do. I told him to keep Jason away from you."
Lindsey: "What? Why?"
Santa: "I already told you Lindsey, you are to stop seeing that boy, and his father has to prevent him from seeing you as we will prevent you from seeing him."
Lindsey: "I will not stop seeing Jason."
Santa: "Yes...yes, you will. Like I said before, if you don't...you'll suffer the consequences."
Lindsey: "I can't believe that family that I'm in. I'm so disgusted."

Lindsey gets up and runs from the table Jose gets up and begins to go after her, but Santa stops him.

Santa: "Let her go, Jose."
Jose: "But, abuela, you're not going to let her talk to you like that are you?"
Santa: "Don't you worry about that. I have something for you to do as well. I also want you to warn those men to stay away from Lindsey and our family."
Jose: "Don't worry...I will."
Santa: "Good...now, David...tell us what happened in the restroom with that man."

David sits down so he can tell Santa and Jose about the incident in the restroom.

The Continental Country Club <Lobby>
Paul walks from a room and walks across the lobby. He is looking at a sheet of paper, not paying attention to where he is going and bumps right into Jodi.

Paul: "Oh, I'm sorry miss."

Jodi turns around and they are face to face.

Jodi: "Paul."
Paul: "Jodi."
Jodi: "What are you doing here?"
Paul: "Working."
Jodi: "Oh, it's been a long time, hasn't it?"
Paul: "It has been a while."

There is an awkward silence.

Paul: "How have you been?"
Jodi: "Okay, I guess."
Paul: "How's the family?"
Jodi: "The kids are great...Bradley is...well, he's Bradley."
Paul: "Yeah."
Jodi: "Things have gotten pretty strange between us, haven't they?"
Paul: "What did you expect? I proposed to you and you went off and married Bradley Blake."
Jodi: "I'm still so very sorry for that."
Paul: "So am I."
Jodi: "I really am Paul...there was just no other way. I've explained it to you before."
Paul: "Yeah, I know. I've heard it a few times."
Jodi: "Do you hate me?"
Paul: "No Jodi. I never hated youI never will hate you. I wish you would have married mewe could have been really happy together. I could have been a doctor, instead of working in the Velez's factory and in the mens room at parties like this."
Jodi: "I know...and that's what I feel worse about. I feel as though I took your dream away."
Paul: "It wasn't you...it was Bradley. He didnt want me working there as a doctor along side you because he had his suspicions about us."
Jodi: "I remember it like it was yesterday. I'm so sorry."
Paul: "Stop saying that. It's not your fault."
Jodi: "I still love you."

Paul and Jodi kiss passionately.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Hallway >
Dominique is on her way back to Jennifers room. She passes a room and sees Roger inside. She stops and stands just outside the door.

Dominique: "So, this is the friend that Roger is visiting. I wonder who it is."

She leans in a little bit to try to hear what they are saying. She hears Rogers voice first, then she hears the voice of the other manthe patientits deep and raspy.

Roger: "I'll get it to you Donny...don't worry."
Donny: "You said that last week Roger. Do you think I'll be softer on you since I'm here?"
Roger: "No, of course not, but you can trust me. I'll get you the money. I've never failed you before."
Donny: "This is the only time that you've been late with your payment so I'll give you until Sunday. That's it though. You understand?"
Roger: "Two days?"
Donny: "Do you understand?"
Roger: "Yeah."

Dominique looks confused as she listens to the two men talk.

Dominique: "What are they talking about? What is this all about? Who is this Donny guy?"

Dominique, still looking confused, continues to listen.

The Continental Country Club <Andreas Table>
Andrea and Brittany continue talking. Mariah and Richard walk up to the table.

Andrea: "You're back?"
Brittany: "Mom!"
Andrea: "You don't know what this girl said to me earlier. She called me a gold-digging bitch."
Brittany: "Mariah!"
Mariah: "I don't know what your mother is talking about. I think your hallucinating or something Mrs. OKeffe."
Andrea: "I am not...I know what you said."
Mariah: "If you say so. Anyway, Brittany, hows the evening going for you?"
Brittany: "Perfect. You'll never, ever believe who came up to me and asked me to dance; Douglas Richmond Jr. Isn't that fantastic? I like him a lot and he likes me."
Mariah: "That's great Brittany."
Brittany: "How's the evening going for you two?"
Richard: "So far so good."
Brittany: "Good, I'm happy to hear that. Have you asked her to dance yet, Richard?"
Mariah: "Of course he hasnt! I practically had to drag him out to the dance floor."
Brittany: "Shame on you Richard."
Richard: "Go easy on me...I dont like dancing."
Brittany: "If you're going to be dating Mariah Cortez, then you should like to dance."
Mariah: "You tell him Brittany."

Douglas quickly comes up to Brittany and whispers something in her hear. They run off. Andrea, Mariah and Richard all look curious yet confused.

Richard: "I wonder what thats all about."

Andrea stands up and goes straight up to Mariah.

Andrea: "Why did you lie just now? Making my daughter believe that I'm some monster, that I'm hallucinating."
Mariah: "You didn't actually think that I would confess to calling you a gold-digging bitch in front of Brittany, did you? I'm only giving you a little taste of your own medicine."
Andrea: "You little bitch. Get out of here."
Mariah: "Bye."

Mariah smiles and waves as she and Richard walk away.

The Continental Country Club <The Velezs Table>
Santa, David and Jose are sitting there talking.

Santa: "I just want to make sure that you are not going to be afraid to confront either one of those men about this situation."
Jose: "Abuela, I'm not going to be afraid. Was afraid to drag Lindsey out of that coffeehouse and away from JasonI even warned him to stay away then. I dont think I need any training."
Santa: "Like I said, I only wanted to make sure."
David: "I'm sure Jose will do a fine job."
Santa: "I hope so. No granddaughter of mine is going to date a factory worker. I still can't believe that she went so low. I just need to continue warning her to stay away from that boy or else shes going to pay the consequences. I'm sure if I continue threatening her she'll stop seeing him."

They continue to sit there looking very evil and vengeful.

The Continental Country Club <Lobby>
Lindsey sits in a secluded chair in the lobby of the large country club. She dials a telephone number on her cell phone. Shes calling Jason again.

Jason: "Hello?"
Lindsey: "Jay, it's me again."
Jason: "Lindsey, is something wrong?"
Lindsey: "Not with me."
Jason: "Is it my father?"
Lindsey: "Yes. My father confronted him. He told him that he has to keep you away from me and for you and him to stay away from my family."
Jason: "What did my father say?"
Lindsey: "I didn't hear everything, but I'm sure he didn't agree from keeping us away from each other. What are we going to do about my family, though?"
Jason: "There is nothing to do Lindsey. My father isnt going to try and break us up."
Lindsey: "I know...but what about my father? He is still planning on it and I know my grandmother and brother are in on it too."
Jason: "Forget them."
Lindsey: "They are attempting to destroy our relationship. How can I just forget them?"
Jason: "You know that nothing and nobody will be able to keep us apart. We love each other too much."
Lindsey: "I know...and I love you Jason."

Lindsey hears someone walk up behind her and gives a grunt letting Lindsey know that shes not alone. Lindsey stands up and turns around and sees Geovanna. She sighs in relief.

Jason: "What is it?"
Lindsey: "My mother. I thought it was my grandmother or someone."
Geovanna: "Get off the phone Lindsey. We have to talk."
Lindsey: "Jason, I have to go, I'll call you later, I love you, bye."

Lindsey hangs up.

Lindsey: "What is it mama?"
Geovanna: "Why are you calling Jason from here?"
Lindsey: "I have to keep him posted on whats happening."
Geovanna: "What if your abuela were to catch you? She might discover that you are not obeying what she said, or even worse...that I knew you were seeing Jason and didnt tell them or try and stop it before."

Suddenly they hear a voice. Its Santa.

Santa: "Too late. I already know."

Lindsey and Geovanna gasp and turn and look at Santa. They are terrified.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Jennifers Room>
Martin lifts his hand to hit Sam again, but doesnt, now remembering what Chief Carter had said.

Julia: "Are you saying that you did do this to her?"
Martin: "Of course he is!"
Sam: "No...I didn't do anything to Jenny at all."
Julia: "What did you mean by what you just said, then?"
Sam: "Just the fact that I did nothing to hurt Jenny. You wont be able to prove anything."

Now everyone is angry and they start yelling louder and louder.

Martin: "How can you deny it? You're nothing but a bastard. You had to have done this. There is no other explanation."
Sam: "There has to be, because I didn't hurt her!"
Martin: "Stop denying it, we know!"
Sam: "You don't know anything Martin! Nothing! I'm sick of all your non-sense accusations...I'm sick of you! Get out of this room!"
Martin: "I'm not going anywhere! I'm staying by my daughter. Now what are you going to do, Sam? Push me down the stairs too?"
Julia: "Both of you need to just calm down!"
Martin: "Whose side are you on, Julia?"
Julia: "I'm on our daughters side and having you guys fighting isnt good for her!"
Sam: "Put a sock in it Julia. She can't hear a thing! She's unconscious and shes not waking up anything soon!"

Martin, Julia and Sam continue arguing and getting louder and louder. Beyond where they are standing Jennifer is laying in the hospital bed. Hey eyes remain closed, but she begins to move her head. She mumbles something in a weak, low voice. She continues saying the same thing over and over.

Jennifer: "Sam...he pushed me. Sam pushed me. Sam pushed me. Sam pushed me."

Jennifer continues to say this, but nobody can hear her over their arguing.

The Continental Country Club <Lobby>
Paul and Jodi finally pull back from their passionate kiss.

Paul: "I didn't know that you still had feelings for me."
Jodi: "I never stopped having them, Paul. I never stopped loving you. Through all those years of being married to Bradley...I never loved him...and always kept you in my heart. You felt the same way didn't you?"
Paul: "I loved you Jodi. I really did."
Jodi: "You mean, you stopped loving me?"
Paul: "I met Lauren. We started dating...we fell in love...we got married...we had a son. We were truly in love."
Jodi: "I know. It always hurt me when I would see you and Lauren walking in the park holding hands. It crushed me inside. Now to know that you didn't have an ounce of love for me...it hurts even more. But I'm glad you were happy. You must have been devastated when she died."
Paul: "Believe me, I was. I feel comfortable knowing that you've never stopped loving me though. That kiss brought a lot back to me."
Jodi: "It did the same for me. Kiss me again."
Paul: "I don't think thats such a good idea."
Jodi: "Paul, I know that you stopped loving me, but that..."
Paul: "That's not what I mean. Look over there."

Jodi turns around and sees Brad walk into the country club. She gets frantic and quickly turns back around.

Jodi: "Oh my God. I thought he wasn't coming...he said he wasn't. What am I going to do? I can't let him see us together. That would not be good. What am I going to do? He's going to come this way!"

They both looks frightened and begin thinking of what they can do. Brad starts to walk in the direction where they are standing.
