Quinn Home <Living Room/Front Porch>
Sam stares at Jenny, who is lying on the floor bleeding from the head.
Sam: Oh my God, Jenny...Jenny? I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I've got to get out of here.
Sam runs out of the backdoor of the house and speeds off in his car. Jenny lays unconscious on the floor. Julia and Martin Randall, Jennys parents, arrive at the house seconds later. They ring the doorbell. There is no answer as Jenny continues to lye on the floor unconscious.
Martin: Come on Julia, nobody's home.
Julia: Sam has got to be home.
Martin: Just because he doesn't work anymore doesn't mean that he doesn't go out.
Julia: I know that. It's just we drove all the way over here to surprise Jenny and I'm not going to leave. Even if we have to sit on the porch and wait for them.
Julia reaches for the doorknob and turns it.
Julia: Martin, it's open.
Martin: Then let's go in. It's cold out here. I'm sure that Jenny and Sam wouldn't mind.
Julia walks in first. When she sees Jenny she screams.
Julia: Oh my God, oh my god! My little girl, Jenny!
Julia kneels down next to her, crying, as she shakes her trying to wake her up.
Blake Mansion <Patio>
Brad and Edwin stand outside the mansion.
Edwin: Are you really going to tell me the truth about what you and mother were talking about?
Brad: Yes. I'll tell you everything. You have to promise that you'll never tell your mother that I told you this...is that clear son?
Edwin: Yes, now tell me.
Brad: Well, what we were talking about had to do with something that happened about 20 years ago. You're mother...
Christina, Brad and Jodi's beautiful nineteen year-old-daughter, cuts him off.
Christina: Good afternoon father.
Brad: Christina. How are you feeling?
Christina: Better. Thank you. I promised Edwin a trip to the mall, so since I'm feeling a bit better I was wondering if he was still up to it. So what do you say?
Edwin: No, no, its okay, really Christina. We dont have to go to the mall. Father was actually just about to tell me what he and mother were talking about in the garden a few moments ago.
Christina: I don't think what they were talking about should be any of your business, whatever it may be.
Edwin: Well, I would really like to know since mother seemed so angry.
Christina: Mother seemed angry?
Christina turns to face her father.
Christina: Why was mother angry? What did you do this time?
Brad just looks at Christina.
Lakeview Plaza <"Margaret's">
Andrea walks up to Brittany, who is looking at some dresses in a store.
Andrea: Look at this dress, honey. Isn't it the most stunning thing you've ever seen?
Brittany: Yeah, it's nice.
Andrea: Nice? That's it? This dress is going to catch you the most handsome man at that party tonight. Not to mention the richest.
Brittany: It's bad enough that I have to go to this party, but I cant even pick out the dress I'm going to wear.
Andrea: Of course you can pick out the dress you want to wear, but I'm just telling you that this one is the best.
Brittany: Fine, I'll get this one...I wouldn't want to hurt your feelings again.
Andrea: Wonderful. Now lets pay for this and get out of here. We really should have bought you a dress from Park Lane.
Brittany: That would have been a bit expensive, dont you think?
Andrea: Yes, but it would have been worth it. This will do though. Margaret's is the most expensive store in this mall, so, I guess it's not that bad.
Andrea and Brittany are waiting in line. Andrea happens to look towards the door and sees David Velez walk in.
Andrea: Oh my! It must be my lucky day.
Brittany: What is it mom?
Andrea: Look who just walked in.
Brittany: Who is it?
Andrea: None other than the David Velez.
Brittany: Oh, grow up mom.
Andrea: What? I can look. I wonder what he is here for.
Brittany: He's probably buying something for his wife...he is married you know.
Andrea: Yes, I know, to that God awful woman, Geovanna. What ever does he see in her?
Brittany: Her family is rich too, that's probably what he sees. Let's just pay for this dress and go.
Andrea: No way. We need to go over there and talk to Mr. Velez. I wonder if his son is here. Maybe we can get ahead on finding you a husband.
Brittany sighs as her mother stares at David.
"Cup-A-Joe" <Restroom Lobby>
Jose stares at Jason and Lindsey waiting for an answer.
Jose: I'm waiting. What is this all about?
Lindsey: Jose...calm down...just...calm down.
Jose: I'll will not. I want an explanation immediately.
Jason: Jose, listen...
Jose: You shut your mouth. Don't talk to me in such a familiar tone. You don't know me, and I won't have you near my family, especially Lindsey.
Lindsey: Jose, please.
Jose: I want to know whats going on.
Jose yells and Mike Mitchell, the owner of Cup-A-Joe, comes to where they are.
Mike: Is there a problem Mr. Velez?
Jose: Yes, and you're to stay out of it.
Mike: And I will, but I cant have you yelling like that in here Mr. Velez.
Jose: Don't you have something to do?
Mike: Don't make me throw you out of here, Mr. Velez.
Jose: Do you know what I would do to you? You..
Mike: I'm not afraid of you. Cut the holier then thou attitude and stop your yelling or get out of my shop.
Jose: I won't stand for this.
Mike: Looks like youre gonna have to.
Jose: Lets go Lindsey.
Jose grabs Lindsey by the arm and begins to drag her out.
Lindsey: Jose...stop...stop. Wait.
Jose: No, were leaving.
Jason begins to follow. Jose turns and gives him an evil look.
Jose: Stay away from us Forbes!
Jose drags Lindsey outside. Mike looks at Jason.
Mike: What a bastard.
Jason: You can say that again.
Velez Mansion <Closet in the Library>
Geovanna is standing in the closet and listens to Miranda and Santa's conversation.
Santa: What do you mean I cant?
Miranda: Well, you already have a coat. It would just be so silly to get another one. Why would you need another coat?
Santa: I dont want two coats. I just want a different one. Do you mind?
Miranda: Well, no, of course not, but
Santa: Good. Now excuse me.
<Outside the Closet in the Library>
Santa steps back to the closet and begins to turn the knob.
Santa continues to turn the knob when all of sudden it stops. Geovanna had locked it on the inside.
Santa: Whats wrong with this Miranda? Why is this locked?
Miranda: Locked?
Santa: Yes, its locked, from the inside.
Miranda: Oh...I'm terribly sorry. That must have been me. I got your long black coat dry-cleaned and when I put it back, I must have accidentally locked it. I'll go and get the key and open it up.
Santa: I don't have time for that. I'll just keep this coat. And remember what I said about this evening.
Miranda: Yes Seņora Velez, I will. Have a wonderful rest of the day.
Santa walks out of the library. Miranda lets out a big breath of relief. She knocks on the closet door.
Miranda: Seņora Geovanna, it's safe to come out.
Geovanna unlocks the door and comes out.
Miranda: That was way too close Seņora Geovanna. Let's get out of here.
Geovanna: No way. She didnt catch us. That was wonderful quick thinking that you did.
Miranda: I feel terrible, though.
Geovanna: Don't.
Miranda: I must insist that we leave...that you do this another time, I don't think it's safe to be in here. If Seņora Velez walks back in here I wont know what else to say. Surely she'll catch us.
Geovanna: She's gone now, Miranda. Calm down. We have the rest of the day. However, I must ask you something, and you have to be totally honest. What did you mean before when you said that you think I have an ulterior motive. Do you know something that maybe you shouldn't?
Miranda doesnt know what to say and just looks at Geovanna.
Lakeview Plaza <Store>
Andrea begins to walk towards David, but Brittany grabs her arm and stops her.
Brittany: Mom, you cant just walk up to him and start talking. What would you say anyway?
Andrea: I know what I'm doing Brittany.
Andrea turns and continues to walk towards David. Brittany shyly follows. Andrea reaches him and taps his shoulder. He turns, when he sees its Andrea he sighs.
David: Andrea OKeffe, what a very unpleasant surprise.
Andrea: Oh, Mr. Velez, is that anyway to talk to a lady?
David: Certainly not, but please, do tell me when one walks in...I'll be sure to greet her accordingly.
Andrea: Yes, well, I was just wondering if you and your wife were going to be attending the party this evening at the country club.
David: Yes, of course well be there. My entire family will be there.
Andrea: Perfect. Then I guess I'll see you there.
David: You're going?
Andrea: I wouldn't miss it for the world. My daughter is going as well. I don't believe you've met her before.
Andrea pushes Brittany forward.
Andrea: Mr. Velez, this is my daughter, Brittany. Brittany, meet Mr. David Velez.
Brittany: Nice to meet you sir.
David: The pleasure is all mine.
David kisses Brittanys hand. He looks up at Andrea.
David: I'm afraid I'll have to be going now. It was a pleasure meeting you Brittany. I expect to see you later. Andrea, as always, well, I'll leave it at that. Goodbye.
David chuckles and leaves the store and Andrea looks very serious, in response to the comments that David had just made to her. Brittany looks at her and laughs.
Blake Mansion <Patio>
Brad looks at Christina, who is very serious.
Brad: You're mother was just upset about something that happened at the hospital the other day. She was telling me about it, and it really got her wound up.
Edwin: That's a lie.
Brad: Excuse me? Don't dare take that tone with me.
Edwin: I heard what mom said, and it wasn't about a patient. She called you an arrogant bastard.
Brad stares off remember his and Jodi's conversation.
~Flashback~
Brad: Come on, admit it Jodi. You and that local were an item.
Jodi: What would make you think a silly thing like that?
Brad: I already told you. Andrea told me everything. I guess she wasnt such a good person to tell your explosive secret to. Huh?
Jodi: I can't stand being in this marriage. You're such and arrogant bastard.
~Flashback Ends~
Brad looks back at Edwin and Christina. Christina gives her father a nasty look and shakes her head.
Christina: So, obviously you're lying. Are you going to tell me what made mother so mad?
Brad: No, its none of your concern, or your's Edwin. If either one of you were meant to know, then you would.
Edwin: You have to ruin everything Christina. I was almost able to find out some good things about this family, but now it's still boring since I know nothing about it, and it's all thanks to you.
Edwin walks into the mansion. Christina looks away from Brad.
Brad: He doesnt mean what he says Christina.
Christina: What Edwin said doesn't bother me one bit. What does bother me, is that mother was mad at you for something that you obviously did. You must have said something to her to get her all worked up. What was it? I hate to think that mother is so upset.
Brad: Yes, your mother was upset. Actually, she was more scared then she was upset. It's because she knows that I know her dirty little secret now.
Christina: What non-sense are you talking about now father?
Brad: This isnt non-sense sweet-heart. Your mother's a whore, just a dirty whore.
Christina gasps and is shocked by what her father has just said.
South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Dr. Jodi Blakes Office>
Jodi is sitting behind her desk doing paper work. She stops working for a moment and takes a sip of coffee. She stares off towards the other side of the room. She hears Brads voice in her head saying repeatedly: Andrea told me everything.
Jodi stands up from her desk and yells out.
Jodi: No! He cant know. She couldnt of told him. I'll kill her...I'll just kill her if she did. That was my secret. If Brad really knows that I dated Paul...then...oh my God. What if Brad tells the kids about it? What if he tells everyone at the country club? I'll be ruined forever. Oh my God. What am I going to do?
Jodi sits back down, puts her head into her hands and begins crying.
Quinn Home <Foyer/Outside/Front Porch>
Julia is still kneeling by Jennifer holding her. Martin comes running back into the room. He is holding bunches and bunches of towels. He tosses them onto the floor next to Julia. Julia picks a few up and holds them over the spot on Jennifers head that is bleeding.
Martin: I called an ambulance. I don't understand this. What's going on around here. Where's Sam? Who could have done this? Come on, wheres the ambulance.
Julia: Calm down Martin. Please calm down. You're going to get me more hyper then I already am.
Martin: Listen Julia, it's a little hard for me to calm down when my daughter is lying unconscious in the middle of her foyer bleeding from the head.
Julia: I understand, but getting all worked up isn't going to help anything. I don't want you having another heart attack.
Martin: Dont worry about me right now sweetheart. Ill be fine. We have to take care of Jenny now. Where in the world is that ambulance?
Just then the sound of an ambulance is heard outside. Martin runs to the door and opens it up. Two male paramedics rush into the house and direct Julia to move away from Jennifers body. They huddle around her yelling out medical terms. One paramedic continues to work on Jennifer while the other exits the house. Julia follows after him immediately.
Julia: Excuse me. Is my daughter going to be all right?
Paramedic: She doesnt look so good right now, ma'am.
Julia: But, as soon you get her to the hospital shell be able to fully recover, right?
Paramedic: I cant promise you anything maam. Well try our best.
The paramedic walks into the house with the stretcher. Just at that moment the police arrive. Two male officers are walking towards the house. Julia is sitting in a chair and doesnt realize it when the men walk up to her.
Police Officer #1: Excuse me ma'am.
Julia: Yes?
Police Officer #2: Im Officer Greene, this is Officer Sullivan. Can you tell us what happened here?
Julia: I really dont know. My daughter and her family lives here. My husband and I, we came to visit them. We live in Richmond, you see. When we got here, there was no answer. I noticed that the door was open though, so we went on in. Nobody was there except for my daughters body.
Officer Sullivan: Thats exactly what happened?
Julia: Yes. Everything, except for that, when I saw her lying there I screamed. I told my husband to call 9-1-1 and I was just sitting on the floor holding her. I tried to stop the bleeding too.
Officer Greene: And where is your daughters family? Her children, her husband...where is everyone?
Julia: My granddaughters, Ellen and Amy, are at school. They go to Hudson High School. I'm not sure where my son-in-law is.
Officer Greene: Isn't this Sam Quinn's house? He was on the force for a while, but he had to retire a couple years back cause he got shot.
Julia: That's him.
Officer Sullivan: Ma'am, let us go take a look at your daughter and see how bad she is. Well be right back.
The officers walk across the porch towards the front door. They talk as they are walking.
Officer Greene: This is Quinn were dealing with. Were liable to find anything, and he could be the one who did it. You know how he was and how much worse he got after the accident.
Officer Sullivan: I know. I was thinking the same thing. I hope were wrong. I'd hate to cause Sam more pain then he has already had to face. Not to mention his wife and his girls.
The officers walk into the house and look at Jennifer's body, which is still lying on the floor. They look around it and examine it a little.
Officer Sullivan: This was no accident. She didn't fall down the stair's or trip. She was pushed, and forcefully.
Paramedic: Can we take her now.
Officer Greene: Yeah. Go ahead.
Officer Sullivan: Greene, I have a gut feeling that Sam, in fact, did do this.
The officers look on as Jennifer is wheeled out of the house. The paramedics put her into the ambulance. Martin and Julia walk over to the paramedics before they leave.
Julia: Can I ride in the back with her?
Paramedic: It's probably best if you dont ma'am. Just take your own car and meet us at the hospital.
Martin: You take care of my little girl, and she better be all right.
Julia: Martin.
Paramedic: Don't worry sir. Were gonna help her.
The paramedic closes the doors and gets into the ambulance and drives off. Martin and Julia go into the house to get their coats.
Officer Greene: Were gonna need your names along with any relation to the victim.
Martin: Randall...Martin and Julia Randall. We're Jennifer's parents.
Officer Greene: Okay sir. Well meet you at the hospital later for a little more information, and dont worry, you wont need to make an official statement, unless of course Police Chief Carter says so.
Julia and Martin nod. The officers leave and soon after that Julia and Martin take off in their own car.
OKeffe Home <Brittanys Bedroom>
Brittany OKeffe is in her bedroom looking at the beautiful and expensive violet gown that her and her mother bought at Margarets in Lakeview Plaza. She drifts off as she is staring at the dress.
~Day Dream~
We see Brittany standing at a punch bowl wearing that violet gown. Richard Lee walks up to her.
Richard: Brittany, you look so beautiful tonight.
Brittany: Richard. Thank you. Where's Mariah?
Richard: Who cares? All I want is you? May I have this dance?
Brittany: Yes, of course.
The two begin dancing and suddenly nobody else is in the room and they are in a ballroom dancing all alone. They stop dancing and look into each others eyes and kiss.
~Day Dream Ends~
Megan Shirley, Brittanys 20 year old, beautiful best friend is standing in her room. Brittany notices her and jumps.
Brittany: Oh my God. Megan, you scared me. Whats wrong with you?
Megan: I'm sorry. It's not my fault you were in your dream world.
Brittany: I dont have a dream world.
Megan: Well, you were a thousand miles away when I walked in. What were you thinking about?
Brittany laughs.
Brittany: Nothing. It was non-sense.
Megan: Oh no. Youre not going to get away with that. Tell me everything.
Brittany: You have to promise not to tell anyone.
Megan: I promise.
Brittany: I was thinking about Richard.
Megan: Richard Lee? Mariahs boyfriend?
Brittany: Yeah.
Megan: Like how were you thinking about him? Were you thinking about him like whens his birthday? or were you thinking about him like I wonder how he kisses?
Brittany: You are too much. But if you have to know, I was dancing with him.
Megan: And you say you dont have a dream world. But how can you think about Richard like that? Hes our friend and he goes out with one of our best friendsMariah.
Brittany: I know, but for some reason I dont feel guilty about it.
Megan: Ladies and Gentleman, please observe while Brittany OKeffe turns into her mother!
Megan says teasingly and laughs at Brittany.
Brittany: Oh my God. You're right. I'm turning into my mother. I'm lying and scheming to get my way. I cant believe this.
Megan is speechless and Brittany just looks at herself in the mirror.
South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Dr. Jodi Blakes Office>
Jodi is again sitting at her desk doing some work. There is a knock at the door. Andrea, Jodis best friend, walks into the office.
Andrea: Hi.
Jodi: Bitch. I thought you my friend.
Andrea: What are you talking about? I am your friend. I'm your best friend.
Jodi: Yeah, thats what I thought too.
Andrea: Can you please tell me what youre rambling on about?
Jodi: Yes, as a matter of fact I can. You know what you are? I can think of about five-hundred names to call you right now.
Andrea: How dare you!
Jodi: Yeah...like a gold-digger, hanger-on, back-stabber, traitor, bitch.
Andrea: How dare you! Where is all of this coming from?
Jodi: Don't play innocent with me Andrea. I told you my secret about Paul. I confided in you.
Andrea: I didnt tell Brad.
Jodi: Did I say that you told Brad?
Andrea: Well
Jodi: Well nothing. How could you?
Andrea: He
Jodi: He what? Come on...spit out all those lies.
Andrea: I really don't know what you're talking about.
Jodi: Right. He said that you're just scheming behind my back so you can get me and him divorced and so that you can become the next Mrs. Bradley Blake.
Andrea: That's a lie. I'm your best friend Jodi. I wouldn't do something like that.
Jodi: Oh, you wouldn't. So why are you doing it with your daughter? Everybody in town knows what a scheming gold-digger you are. You cant hide it.
Andrea: You have it all wrong.
Jodi: I know exactly what I'm talking about. Get out of here. I don't want to see your face for another minute.
Andrea: No! I'm not leaving here until I tell you my half. We can stay here all night if we have to. You're going to listen to me.
Jodi looks at Andrea, surprised by what she just said. Andrea sits down in a chair and folds her arms. Jodi follows suite.
Blake Mansion <Patio>
Christina stands up quickly.
Christina: How dare you say such things about mother!
Brad: Listen Christina. It's the truth.
Christina: I don't believe it for a second.
Brad: Do you want proof?
Christina: You can't prove anything. I don't need you to prove anything to me anyway. I believe in mother and she is not a whore.
Brad: I see I am going to have to prove it to you. Your mother...
Christina: I don't want to hear you stupid lies father. I had enough of those by the time I was five years old to last me a lifetime. I can understand now why mother called you an arrogant bastard and she was right...thats all you are. All you care about it money...you dont give a damn about your family or what they do...all you care about is the money and how close the Blake family is to regaining control over Watersdale. You're pathetic.
Brad: Don't you dare speak me that way.
Christina: I just did. What are you gonna do about it father? Call me a whore too? Goodbye.
Christina walks into the mansion. Brad yells for her to come back but she ignores him and continues walking up to her bedroom. Brad sits back down.
Brad: You'll see that I'm not lying about your mother Christina. She's going to go down now. I have the ammunition I need to destroy her.
Jamie, the top maid at the mansion was close by listening and heard what Brad said. She quickly walks back to the kitchen.
Jamie: Mrs. Blake wont be happy to hear this. There's going to be some major events coming...I can feel it...and it's not good.
Jamie continues cleaning, as she thinks about what she just heard.
South Sea Watersdale Hospital <Waiting Room>
Julia and Martin are sitting in the waiting room at South Sea Watersdale Hospital.
Julia: Martin, how could this have happened?
Martin: It was Sam. Sam had to have done this.
Julia: What do you mean? What makes you say such a thing?
Martin: Julia, you know that they have been having trouble with their marriage.
Julia: Yes, I know, I know, but SamSam, he just wouldnt do such a horrible thing, would he?
Martin: Let me ask you something. Do you remember when Jennifer came home with Sam for us to meet him and then the following year she told us that he proposed?
Julia: Yes, of course, but what does that have to do with anything?
Martin: Dont you remember how much I hated Sam?
Julia: Yes, and I told you how foolish you were to think such awe-full thoughts about our future son-in-law.
Martin: Well, I now know that I was right about him. I just know that he did this to Jenn. I know it. Oh, if I could get my hands on that son-of-a
Julia: Here comes the doctor.
Julia and Martin stand up as the doctor approaches them.
Martin: How is she doctor? Shes going to be alright, right?
The doctor remains silent for a moment and looks at Martin and Julia.
Julia: Doctor. My daughter, is she okay?
Doctor: Mr. and Mrs. Randall, I'm afraid I have some bad news for you.
Julia and Martin stare at the doctor in suspense. A tear comes to Julias eye. Martin wraps his arm around her.
Velez Mansion <Library>
Geovanna and Miranda are still standing in the library. Geovanna had just brought up something that Miranda had said earlier and was waiting for a response.
Geovanna: Earth to Miranda. I'm waiting.
Miranda: I've already told you that I know many of this families secrets.
Geovanna: Yes, but you specifically said that you thought I might have an ulterior motive to what I'm doing. What do you think my ulterior motive would be Miranda?
Miranda: I never said anything about an ulterior motive Seņora.
Geovanna: Yes, you did. Right before Santa walked in here and I had to be shoved into the closet...don't you remember?
Miranda: No, I'm afraid I dont.
Geovanna: Alright then. Get the book-safe back out here.
Miranda: Don't you think you should come back another time? I mean, what just happened, that was too close.
Geovanna: Calm down Miranda. She's gone until about six now. I have all the time in the world.
Miranda: If you call two hours all the time in the world.
Geovanna: It's already four?
Miranda: Yes.
Geovanna: Damn.
Miranda: Is there a problem Seņora?
Geovanna: This is going to have to wait for another time. I hate to say it, but it just has too. I have too many things to do in too little time. Is my dress for this evening pressed?
Miranda: Yes.
Geovanna: Good. Well, I have to go upstairs. Like I said, I have a million things to do.
Geovanna heads towards the door. She turns and looks at Miranda very seriously.
Geovanna: Don't think this is over Miranda. We have a lot of work to do in order to destroy Santa.
Miranda: Yes Seņora Geovanna.
Geovanna walks out of the library. Miranda sits down in a chair close-by.
Miranda: Oh my dear God. Should I really be helping Seņora Geovanna like this? She wants to destroy Seņora Velez. I don't know if I can do this. And should I tell Seņora Geovanna that I know about her secret? That I know she killed Carlos.
Miranda stares off thinking about whats happening.
