The Lives we Live: Episode #7
Episode #7 - March 9th, 2001

Quinn Home
Sam is sitting on the steps crying. There is a knock at the door. He opens it up.

Sam: "Donna, I...Chief Carter...what are you doing here?"
Chief Carter: "Nice to see you again too, Quinn."
Sam: "Yeah, it's been a long time, hasn't it?"
Chief Carter: "It sure has. How have you been?"
Sam: "Good...good. Everything is great."
Chief Carter: "Really? Is that because you killed your wife?"

Sams mouth drops. He stares at Chief Carter. He realizes what hes doing and looks at him at attention.

Sam: "Excuse me? What are you talking about?"
Chief Carter: "Why dont you tell me what I'm talking about?"
Sam: "I really dont know. I'm shocked that you would come here and say something like that to me. You know me. I would never kill my wife. I love Jennifer."
Chief Carter: "Right, and I'm Tom Cruise."
Sam: "Funny."
Chief Carter: "I'm not here to entertain you Quinn. I'm here to warn you."
Sam: "You'll have to explain further."
Chief Carter: "All that you need to know is that I'm on a mission to get the proof that I need to prove that you killed Jennifer."
Sam: "I didn't kill Jennifer."
Chief Carter: "Really? Then tell me why the hospital called me on my cell phone as I was on my way over here and told me that Jennifer Quinn just flat-lined?"
Sam: "The hospital? Jenny...she...uh..."
Chief Carter: "That's right Sam. Jennifer is dead and I'm going to prove that you killed her."
Sam: "You cant do that. Please, dont."

Chief Carter looks at Sam in delight, thinking that he has just given himself away.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital
Julia and Amy have just come running out of Jennifers room. Doctors and nurses are in there trying to revive her after she has just flat-lined. Julia, Amy and Dominique are crying. Martin holds Julia and Amy in his arms. Dominique looks into the window and watches the doctors and nurses huddled around Jennifer. Ellen stands against the wall and says in a loud voice.

Ellen: "I told you so. I told you that she'd die."

Everyone looks over at Ellen in shock by what she has just said.

Julia: "What did you say?"
Ellen: "I knew that she'd die. I dont know why it's such a shock to all of you. Oh, wait, I remember now, because you're all saps."

Julia walks straight up to Ellen and slaps her square across the face. Everyone gasps. Ellen holds her face and looks at her grandmother in shock.

Ellen: "Grandma..."
Julia: "Shut-up! How dare you speak to us that way, and to talk about your mother in such a ruthless way, get out of my sight."

Julia stares at Ellen with a mean tone of eye. Ellen continues to hold her face and cannot say anything. She just walks down the hallway. Julia turns and sees the shocked expressions on the faces of Martin, Amy and Dominique.

Martin: "Julia, what was that? You've never hit any of our children and certainly not any of the grandchildren."
Julia: "Did you hear what she said? I always said that I would never hit any of my children or grandchildren, but she deserved it. She was out of control. Who does she think she is speaking to us that way...and saying what she did about Jennifer, that is her mother for heaven's sake."
Amy: "You're right grandma. You were right for slapping some sense into her."

Dominique can tell that Julia does not want to hear anything more about what just happened so she changes the subject.

Dominique: "Why is it taking so long for them to revive her?"
Amy: "Yeah, I'm getting really scared grandma and grandpa. What if Ellen is right and mom really dies?"
Julia: "Ellen is wrong. You're mother is going to be just fine...remember to keep that faith."
Amy: "Right. I have to have faith that mom will be just fine. I know that she will be."

They all watch through the window as the doctors and nurses continue to scramble around in the room.

The Continental Country Club
Andrea and Brittany have just walked into the grand ballroom of the country club where the party is to be held. Andrea leads Brittany over near a group of people standing by the bar. They stand about two feet away from them.

Andrea: "Look at them. They dont have a worry in the world. I just cant wait to have you married to one of the rich men that will be here tonight."
Brittany: "Mom, I wish you'd..."
Andrea: "Wait a second. Let me tell you who all those people are. Do you see that man there wearing the black bow tie? That is Winston Scott. He is a very close friend to Mr. Richmond. That woman next to him in the blue dress is his wife, Christine. They are very nice people, even though they're worth billions. That other couple is George and Margaret Willis. She is the woman that owns Margaret's in the mall, where we bought you that dress youre wearing. They arent worth as much as the Scott's, but they do have money and that's the only thing that matters."
Brittany: "Should I care about any of this?"
Andrea: "Yes. You need to know your facts because both the Scott's and the Willis' have handsome sons who are very eligible. The Scott's have two sons, Eric and Julian. The Willis' have one son. His name is Joshua."
Brittany: "How do you know all of this?"
Andrea: "You seem to forget that my best friend is Jodi Blake."
Brittany: "Oh yeah. She must have told you all this."
Andrea: "That she did. Now, let us go over there and I'll tell you about the Dole's and the Park's."

They begin to walk to the other side of the ballroom as more and more guests arrive.

The Continental Country Club

Santa, David, Geovanna, Jose and Lindsey walk through the large doors into the main lobby of the country club. A few ushers come and take their coats and begin to lead them to the grand ballroom. David holds Santa on his arm. Jose holds Geovanna on his arm and Lindsey walks on the arm of an usher. As they walk they are talking.

David: "What did you say to Lindsey, mama?"
Santa: "I told her exactly what I think of her romance with that local and I forbade her to ever see him again."
David: "Good. I'll have to have a talk with her too."
Santa: "No, you dont. I've already talked with her, and I'm sure she's clear on what I've said. If she's not, and she continues to see that Jason Forbes boy, then she'll pay the consequences as will he."
David: "I should talk with her too mama. She is my daughter."
Santa: "Yes, she is. You had a chance to be able to speak with her, but you didn't. You rather made a fool of yourself, going off the way you did."
David: "I was angry."
Santa: "As was I, but you did not see me getting all jumpy about it."
David: "Mama, you dont understand. I've..."
Santa: "David, listen. I've been around for almost seventy-five years now, and I know what I'm doing. I don't need any help from you. I don't need help from Jose, or anybody else. I think I've made that quite clear. When I tell you to do something, that should be the only time you do anything."
David: "Mama, if you expect me to take over our legacy one day then you have to..."
Santa: "No, I don't. I will continue to reign as the head of this family until the day I die."
David: "Yes mama."

Just behind them Geovanna and Jose are walking.

Geovanna: "Jose, I didn't get a chance to talk to you at home after the chaos, but I just wanted to tell you that you have to stop doing things like this."
Jose: "What are you talking about mama?"
Geovanna: "You have to stop worrying about what is going on within the family. You have your career as district attorney just starting off and you have to pay all of your attention to that. I don't want you worrying about what your abuela is doing, or what your papa is doing, or even what me or your sister is doing."
Jose: "I thought that youd be happy that I brought the situation of Lindsey dating Jason to you."
Geovanna: "No, I'm not. I don't want you to become like your grandparents. Abuelo was so controlling when he was alive and now abuela is the same way. You're following in their footsteps and I dont like it."
Jose: "Where is this coming from mama? I thought you wanted me to become like a prime Velez."
Geovanna: "I do, but not in the same sense that your grandparents are."
Jose: "I'm sorry mama, but I have to do what is right, and if that means going against your wishes, then so be it."
Geovanna: "Don't speak to me that way."
Jose: "I'm sorry. It's just that, I dont want anything to happen to this family. You know how protective I am with Lindsey. It made me so upset to see that she was dating below her class."
Geovanna: "Dating below your class is not bad, Jose. It's perfectly fine, as long as its love."
Jose: "Well, I'll tell you one thing. Jason isn't in love with Lindsey...all he cares about is her money."

Just behind them Lindsey is walking with an usher. They reach the grand ballroom and they enter. Santa goes to speak with some people and David leads Geovanna to a table and they sit down. Jose goes to speak with some other people. Lindsey stands at the door and looks around the ballroom.

Lindsey: "I wish Jason could be here with me. I'm never going to forgive Jose for doing this to me."

She goes over to the table where her mother and father are sitting and sits down on the other side. She says nothing to either one of them.

Forbes Apartment
Paul Forbes, a handsome older man is straightening his bow tie as his son, Jason walks into the small apartment.

Jason: "Hey dad."
Paul: "Son, how's it going?"
Jason: "I've been better."
Paul: "What happened?"
Jason: "Jose Velez caught me and Lindsey together."

Paul stops what hes doing and turns to Jason quickly.

Paul: "Are you kidding me?"
Jason: "No. He saw us together."
Paul: "What did he do? He didn't hurt you or threaten you or anything, did he?"
Jason: "No. He dragged Lindsey out of the café. He told me to stay away from her and his family."
Paul: "Damn Velez's. They think they can get away with anything. That whole family needs to get whats coming to them."
Jason: "Lindsey isn't like them and neither is her mother."
Paul: "How do you know what Geovanna is like?"
Jason: "Because we met. Lindsey felt secure enough with her to tell her about me and she said that she wanted to meet me, so she did. She said she liked me and that she was fine with us dating. She kept it a secret and nobody knows that she actually knew about us."
Paul: "Okay, well, I'll give that much to her and Lindsey, but David, Jose and Santa...they're all bastards. I'm sure that Juan is rotting in hell."
Jason: "I hope Lindsey is okay. I don't have any idea what Jose did to her or whats happening."
Paul: "I hope she's alright too, Jay."
Jason: "Where are you going?"
Paul: "You forgot? I have to work at that party at the country club tonight. I'm a little late, but I called Charlie and he said it's fine. What are you doing tonight?"
Jason: "Nothing. Just staying home. I can't leave, Lindsey might call."
Paul: "Wouldn't she be at that party tonight?"
Jason: "That's right...she is. The whole Velez family is there."
Paul: "Well, I have to get going. I'll see you later."
Jason: "Okay."

Paul opens the door. Before he walks out Jason tells him something.

Jason: "Dad. Steer clear of the Velez's. I dont think they're happy with the Forbes' tonight."
Paul: "Don't worry."

Paul leaves. Jason sits on the couch and sighs. He turns on the television and starts channel surfing.

Quinn Home
Chief Carter stands across from Sam. Sam is begging for him not to investigate the murder.

Chief Carter: "Is it safe to assume that youre admitting to killing her?"
Sam: "No, I never said that."
Chief Carter: "You implied it."
Sam: "The only reason why I asked you not to try and prove it is because you won't be able to...because I didn't kill Jennifer. I'm shocked that you would think that, and I'm shocked that my wife is dead."
Chief Carter: "You don't seem all that sad."
Sam: "I am. But how can I express it when youre badgering me like this."
Chief Carter: "I truly believe that you killed you wife. There is no other explanation for what happened."

Just then Chief Carters cell phone rings. He answers it. He says a few "yes's" and "no's" and hangs up.

Chief Carter: "I guess youre off the hook for now."
Sam: "What do you mean?"
Chief Carter: "That was Officer Greene. He was just calling to tell me that the doctors were able to revive your wife, that shes not dead after all. She is still in a coma and has a bad concussion, so I wouldn't get too disappointed yet. I'm going to the hospital now to talk with your mother-in-law and father-in-law, you can come with me."
Sam: "How does Martin and Julia know about this?"
Chief Carter: "They're the ones that found Jennifer and got her to the hospital."
Sam: "You know what, I don't want to go to the hospital. I don't like em, and I don't want to see Jennifer the way she is. It'll hurt me too much. All I need to know is that she's okay."
Chief Carter: "You're going to the hospital Sam. If I have to arrest you and take you there then I will."

Sam starts thinking for an excuse to give Chief Carter, but can only stare at the floor. Chief Carter pulls out his handcuffs, and holds them just incase.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital
Martin, Julia, Amy and Dominique are standing in the hallway hoping and praying that the doctors will be able to revive Jennifer. Soon the doctors and nurses come out of the room. All four of them get up and run over to Dr. Lewis.

Julia: "Were you able to revive her? Is she okay now?"
Dr. Lewis: "She's fine Mrs. Randall. We just lost her for a moment. It shouldnt happen again. She still has that concussion, and as you can see, she's still in a coma."
Dominique: "When will she come to?"
Dr. Lewis: "I'm not sure. The force of the hit that she took caused her to get a very rare concussion, which is causing this coma, and with the two, she could be out for months."
Amy: "But, there is a chance that she may come to a lot sooner, right?"
Dr. Lewis: "Of course. She can come to in a half-hour, but remember that she could be like this for months, even years. You have to think of the worst case scenario. If you think that she's going to come to in an hour, you'll eventually convince yourself and you'll be much more disappointed if she stays this way for another month."
Julia: "We understand, doctor. Thank you."
Dr. Lewis: "No problem Mrs. Randall. If you need anything, just ask a nurse to page me. I'll be here in a heartbeat."

Julia nods and Dr. Lewis turns and walks down the hall.

Julia: "Thank God that they were able to revive her. I have to be with her."

Julia and Martin go into the room and sit down next to the bed and Julia takes Jennifers hand in her own. Out in the hallway Amy and Dominique talk.

Dominique: "How did your mother get here? What happened?"
Amy: "I don't know, but my grandfather says that he thinks my father did it."
Dominique: "Sam? No, he wouldn't do something like this to Jenny, would he?"
Amy: "I don't know. You know that my dad has been so distant for the past two to three years. He's been so cold and so...just...I cant even think of a word to describe him. Ellen is getting just the same way too."
Dominique: "I couldn't believe what she said earlier. How can she speak that way about her own mother?"
Amy: "I'm telling you Mrs. Wilson, it's my father. It's his bad influence, and how he's been lately."
Dominique: "Why is Ellen picking it up, but you're not?"
Amy: "I don't like spending time with my dad. Not like he really wants to spend time with either of us, but, Ellen is around him much more."
Dominique: "Well, I just hope Ellen doesn't become as vindictive as Sam sounds he's getting. I feel so terrible that I haven't been able to spend more time with your mom. I'm supposed to be her best friend and perhaps I could have been there for her when this was happening and maybe I could have stopped your father or whoever did this."
Amy: "Don't blame yourself Mrs. Wilson. My mom always says that you're a great friend."
Dominique: "I know she does, but youre mom would say that about anyone. That's how she is."
Amy: "Just dont blame yourself Mrs. Wilson. It really isn't your fault. I believe things happen for a reason and whether you would have been at the house with my mother or not, this would have happened."
Dominique: "I guess youre right. I'm going to go down to the lobby. Do you want to come?"
Amy: "No, thanks. I'm going to stay with my mom and grandparents."
Dominique: "Okay. I'll be back up in a bit."

Dominique turns and walks down the hall and Amy walks into her mothers room.

The Continental Country Club
Andrea and Brittany arrive at the other side of the ballroom and stand about two feet away from another group of people.

Brittany: "Okay, so, who are those people?"
Andrea: "The man holding the glass of champagne is Jonathan Dole."
Brittany: "Is that woman in the pink dress his wife?"
Andrea: "No...that's Shirley Park, her and her husband, Max, own Park Lane."
Brittany: "Wow. They must have a lot of money. Is that Max next to her?"
Andrea: "Yes, but I'm just wondering where April is."
Brittany: "April?"
Andrea: "Yes...Jonathan's wife."

Andrea turns and looks around for the woman.

Andrea: "Well, well, well. Look over there. That is April Dole."
Brittany: "Who's the hunk she's talking to?"
Andrea: "She's not only talking with him. She's having an affair with him. His name is Howard Hemlock."
Brittany: "Howard Hemlock of Barker?"
Andrea: "That's the one."
Brittany: "I hear he's the richest man who lives there."
Andrea: "He is. I can't believe how open she's being about it though. If Jonathan were to catch her, she'd be out on the streets in a heartbeat. Of course, she'd have Howard to pick up the pieces and take her in."
Brittany: "At least he lives in a different town."
Andrea: "But remember, it's not that far away."

Brittany turns her attention away from her mother for a second when she notices a very handsome young man walk into the ballroom just as the band begins to play.

Brittany: "Who's that?"
Andrea: "Uh. It's Douglas Richmond Jr."
Brittany: "Whoa. He's hott."
Andrea: "Yes he is, and don't forget, he's the richest young man here...so make a good impression."
Brittany: "I know...I know."

Brittany continues to stare at him. She doesn't realize it, but he has made eye contact with her and is staring right back at her. Once she realizes she starts blushing and look away. Douglas starts to walk towards her.

Andrea: "Brittany, this is it. He's coming this way! Oh my God, he's going to talk to you."
Brittany: "Go away."
Andrea: "Oh, yeah...of course. I'll be over there."

Andrea walks a little bit away and Douglas walks strait up to Brittany. He takes her hand in his and kisses it. Brittany looks faint, but manages to keep her footing and not faint.

Douglas: "May I have this dance?"
Brittany: Ye...ye...yes. Yes."

Douglas and Brittany begin dancing and Andrea looks on.

Andrea: "Oh, yes, Brittany. You've got him now. Were going straight to the top. Well be rolling in money. Uh, I cant wait."

Andrea laughs and without realizing it Mariah and Richard have walked up behind her and have heard what she said.

Mariah: "Oh my God. Mrs. OKeffe, you are a gold-digger."

Andrea turns and looks at Mariah in shock.
On the other side of the ballroom Santa and David are seated at a table, scheming as well.

Santa: "I want you to do something David. We have to stop Jason and Lindsey from seeing each other, and I'm afraid that my threats to Lindsey might not work."
David: "So, what do you want me to do?"
Santa: "You need to pose your own threats on Jason Forbes and his father every chance you get. Warn them to stay away from Lindsey and the Velez family. If you continue doing that and I continue warning Lindsey then we just might be able to prevent this relationship from going any furthur."
David: "I agree, and I will do my part to end this relationship. The next time I see Jason or Paul, I will confront them."

Santa and David smile sinisterly.
Just outside the large country club stands Paul Forbes.

Paul: "Just keep your cool Paul. Stay away from the Velez's and dont make any type of contact with them. That's the only way that I'll be out of trouble."

He walks into the back door of the country club into the kitchen.

Forbes Apartment
Jason is sitting on his bed in his small square bedroom when the telephone rings. He picks up.

Jason: "Hello?"
Lindsey: "Jason."
Jason: "Lindsey. Where are you? Aren't you supposed to be at the party?"
Lindsey: "I'm at the party. But I'm calling you from the bathroom."
Jason: "How are you?"
Lindsey: "Okay. I had to tell everyone that I'm dating you."
Jason: "What did they say?"
Lindsey: "Obviously my mother didn't say anything, but my father went crazy. My grandmother took me to the library and forbade me not to ever see you again."
Jason: "That's crazy...you're not going to listen to that, are you?"
Lindsey: "Of course not. I can't stop seeing you. But, I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine and that everything will be just fine. We just have to keep our relationship secret forever."
Jason: "I love you Lindsey."
Lindsey: "I love you too Jason. Bye."

They hang up and Lindsey walks out of the bathroom and returns to the party. Jason puts his head against the headboard of his bed and sighs.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital
Dominique is seated at a table drinking a cup of coffee. People are walking in and out of the hospitals café. One person in particular catches her eye. It's Roger, her brother-in-law. She decides to remain seated and not to go over to him incase he brings up their earlier argument. She cant steer clear of him, though, and he comes over to the table where she is sitting. He stands next to the table.

Roger: "Dominique, what are you doing here?"
Dominique: "Jennifer is here. I'm just visiting. How about you?"
Roger: "I've got a friend who is here. I'm visiting too."
Dominique: "Anyone I know?"
Roger: "I doubt it."

There is a silence and Roger feels uncomfortable, but finally speaks and breaks the silence.

Roger: "I haven't forgotten about what happened this morning. I still plan on finding out what you've been hiding from your family."
Dominique: "Can you just stop with that? You're reading into this way too much and this is not the time or the place to be talking about your non-sense."
Roger: "Why don't you just tell me your secret and you can save me a lot of trouble."
Dominique: "You can save yourself a lot of trouble by minding your own business!"
Roger: "Maybe I should just tell Kyle that you have a dirty little secret that you've been hiding from him and the family. Then he could find it out himself."
Dominique: "You're wasting you time even thinking about what you heard me say earlier."

Roger looks off and remembers what happened earlier.

~Flashback~

Dominique is standing in front of the counter in the kitchen and Roger walks in, without her realizing. He stands there and watches her, as she is obviously thinking about something important. She finally speaks.

Dominique: "Nobody can ever find out. Especially not Kyle."

Roger: "What are you talking about Dominique? What can't nobody ever find out?"

Dominique gasps. She turns around and faces Roger.

Dominique: "Roger. I didn't hear you come in. I didn't know you were still home."

Roger: "Obviously. What were talking about Dominique? What are you hiding? I want to know."

Dominique looks scared and stares at Roger.

~Flashback Ends~

Roger looks back and Dominique.

Roger: "Well, once it comes out..."
Dominique: "Nothing can come out! I don't have a secret!"
Roger: "You can't fool me Dominique."
Dominique: "Stop this Roger! Just stop it!"

Dominique says as she stands up from the seat and shoves Roger. They glare at each other.

The Continental Country Club
Mariah and Richard stand in front of Andrea waiting for a response.

Andrea: "Excuse me Mariah? What did you say?"
Mariah: "I said that you are a gold-digger. I heard you standing here plotting...and that sounded like a gold-digger talking. All of those things that you said to me at your house...they were all lies. You just didn't want me to catch you in the act. Just who do you think you are?"
Andrea: "The question is, who do you think you are? Speaking to me that way...how dare you?"
Mariah: "It's the truth Mrs. O'Keffe. Even Richard heard you."
Andrea: "Listen, I won't have you meddling where you don't belong. I only want the best for my daughter, and if that means trying my hardest to get her a rich and handsome husband then so be it."
Mariah: "And doing that will make Brittany happy?"
Andrea: "Yes."
Mariah: "What if she falls in love with a man that doesnt come from a rich family? What then?"
Andrea: "Well...well...um...I wouldn't allow her to marry him. She can only be happy if she marries a man with money."
Mariah: "That isn't true. You can be happy without money. Love is all that matters."
Andrea: "Maybe to you dear, but not to the O'Keffe's."
Mariah: "You're unbelievable. I cant believe that I actually thought you weren't up to anything. Everyone in Watersdale knows about youhow you lie and scheme to get whatever you want. One of these days you're going to come crumbling down...and then you wont be the socialite that you think you are. All those who haven't already figured you out will then realize what a fake gold-digging bitch you are. Have a good time at this party...it may be your last high society social event."
Andrea: "Uh! How dare you speak to me that way...just who..."

Mariah turns and walks away with Richard before Andrea can finish her sentence. Andrea cant believe how Mariah has just spoken to her. For as long as her and Brittany have been friends she's been so nice to Andrea and thats what shocked her the most. Andrea soon forgot about Mariah when she turned and saw Brittany and Douglas dancing.

Andrea: "I don't care what Mariah says or thinks. My daughter will snag a rich husband tonight...and well be the happiest family in the world."

Andrea smiles as she watches Brittany and Douglas.

The Continental Country Club
Brittany and Douglas dance in the middle of the dance floor directly under the huge chandelier centered on the ceiling of the grand ballroom.

Brittany: "You know Mr. Richmond..."
Douglas: "Mr. Richmond is my father...I'm Douglas."
Brittany: "Well, Douglas, I'm flattered that you asked me to dance, really, but why me?"
Douglas: "You were the first girl I saw when I walked in."

Brittany is a little taken back by this, but Douglas continues.

Douglas: "When I saw you, I knew that I had to talk to you and get to know you. Your beauty amazes me."

Brittany can feel herself turning red and starts to blush. She looks down and giggles. She looks back up at Douglas.

Brittany: "That's really sweet, but there are plenty of girls here who are much prettier then I."
Douglas: "I beg to differ. You know something? I've never seen you at one of these types of parties before. Where have you been?"

Brittany looks at Douglas with a frightened look on her face. She has no idea what to say. They continue to dance as she tries to think of something to say that wont make him stop liking her. He looks at her waiting for an answer.

The Continental Country Club
Paul stands next to the sink in the mens room in his tuxedo. There are many different kind's of lotions, cologne's, soap's and more on the counter next to him. Men walk in and out of the bathroom and he offers them a towel to dry their hands and a splash of cologne or something from the counter. A man leaves and Paul fixes the counter so its neat for the next man. That next man is David Velez. He walks into the restroom and doesnt take notice that Paul Forbes is right there. He makes a turn to where the urinals are.

Paul: "Damn. My worst nightmare just walked in. Hopefully hell be wearing his holier then thou attitude tonight and wont even notices me. If he say's something to me there's no telling what I might doI cant stand that man."

David comes back around the corner. He washes his hands, still not noticing Paul, now standing right next to him. David finishes washing his hands and turns for a towel from the man. He finally looks up at him as he goes to hand to towel back to him. His eyes open wide.

David: "It's you. The low-life father of my daughters lover."
Paul: "Would you like some cologne, sir?"
David: "I'd like to have a word with you. I want you to tell your son to stay away from my daughter. I'm sure both of you can think of a few consequences if he doesn't."
Paul: "Mint, sir?"
David: "Do you understand what I'm saying?"
Paul: "I understand what you're saying...I speak English...what I cant understand is why you're wasting your breath."
David: "How dare you speak to me that way? Do you actually think I'll stand for that?"

Paul and David glare at each other.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital
Julia, Amy and Martin are sitting in Jennifers room, hoping that she will come to sometime soon.

Martin: "I want my daughter back. It's killing me to see her this way."
Julia: "It's doing the same to me Martin. I just want her to come to, so this can all be over. She can go home and everything can be back to normal."
Amy: "In a way, it would probably be better if mom stayed in a coma. She wouldn't have to deal with mine and Ellen's constant fighting...she wouldn't have to deal with work...she wouldn't have to deal with cleaning the house...and most importantly...she wouldn't have to deal with dad."
Martin: "You're right Amy, but you can help her with all that. I'd much rather see her out of this coma and having you help her in as many ways a possible."
Julia: "You're grandpa's right Amy. You can start by stopping that constant fighting with Ellen. Don't start anything with her, and if when she tries to start things with you, just ignore it."
Amy: "You're right, but how can I help her deal with dad? It's almost hopeless."
Martin: "I don't think your father cares about your mother, because if he was capable of doing this, then he's a lost cause. Hopefully, for everyones sake, he wont be around for a long time."

Just at that moment when Martin finishes Chief Carter pushes Sam into the room.

Chief Carter: "You're not getting out of this Quinn. I told you that I would arrest you if you didn't co-operate."

Julia and Amy stand up and gasp that Sam is there. Martin looks furious. He jumps up and goes over to Sam and punches him straight in his face. Sam, who still has handcuffs on, falls to the floor. Chief Carter grabs Martin and holds him back.

Julia: "Martin!"
Martin: "Damn you Sam! How dare you do something like this to my daughter?"

Sam lays on the floor and looks up and Martin. Martin glares down at him.
