Episode #6 - March 2, 2001 Velez Mansion Jose is holding onto Lindseys arm. She is struggling to get away from him, but its not working. They are yelling. Lindsey: Jose, let me go. Jose: No. I want you to tell me the truth right now. Lindsey: Let go! David and Geovanna come running down the stairs. David: Whats going on down here? Jose: Thats exactly what Im trying to find out, papa. Geovanna: Let go of your sister. Dont you dare touch her like that. Jose lets go and Lindsey goes over to her mother and stands beside her. Santa comes walking down the stairs next. Santa: Whats all the noise down here for? Jose: Should I tell them Lindsey, or are you going to come clean? Geovanna: What are you talking about Jose? Jose: Lindsey knows. Come on Lindsey. Tell it. Tell them where I found you and with who. Lindsey stays quiet and looks terrified. Everyone stares at her waiting for an answer. David goes over to where Geovanna and Lindsey are standing. He stands directly across from Lindsey. David: Are you hiding something from us Lindsey? Jose: Yes she is papa. David: Jose. Thats enough. Answer me Lindsey. Are you hiding something? Do you know what Jose is talking about? Lindsey stares at her father and her eyes start to fill with tears. She looks around at everyone looking at her, Geovanna, Santa, David and Jose. Her entire family is waiting for her to come clean about something that will destroy her. South Sea Watersdale Hospital Amy and Martin watch Julia and Ellen, through the window, talking. Martin: This is your fathers doing...isnt it? Amy: He has such a big influence on her. Its so sad though, because I realize that hes a really horrible person and now shes becoming just like him. Martin: I knew I never liked that man. He has corrupted this family for the last time. He better not show his face around here ever again. Amy: Calm down grandpa. Come on. Lets just keep mom some company. Martin and Amy sit next to the bed and look on at Jennifer who has all types of machines hooked up to her. In the hall Julia is trying to find out whats up with Ellen. Julia: Is something bothering you honey? Ellen: Not really. Julia: Whats gotten into you then? Ellen: What do you mean? Julia: I mean that youre not the same as before? Ellen: And whats that supposed to mean? Julia: You know what its supposed to mean Ellen. You know that you havent been yourself lately. Just last week your mother called me. She was crying about a fight that you had gotten into with Amy. She told me all the terrible things that you said. She told me that you even smacked Amy and attempted to smack her. Thats not right Ellen, you know it and I know it. Now tell me, whats wrong with you? Ellen: Nothing is wrong with me grandma. Would you just stop? Julia: No, I will not stop. I wont stop until my granddaughter, the one that I used to know, comes back. Let me know when that happens. Julia turns and walks into the room and stands with Martin and Amy. Ellen looks in and a tear rolls down her face. She speaks silently. Ellen: I wish I knew what was wrong with me too, grandma. She wipes the tear away and keeps looking into the room. Watersdale Pier Sam is standing on the docks staring out onto the water. Sam: What have I done? Ive gone way too far this time. What if I killed my wife? I wonder if anyone has found her yet. I cant just let her lay there and die. I have to go back and help her. If someone finds her they may suspect that I did it. Sam runs off the docks on his way back home. OKeffe Home There is a slight knock on the door and Mariah walks in. Mariah: Brittany. Oh my God. You look so beautiful. Brittany: Thanks. You look pretty fancy yourself. What are you doing here? Mariah: Thank you. I just thought that Id come by and see what you guys were up to tonight. Hey Meg. Megan: Hi. Mariah: So, where are you going all dressed up like that Brittany? Brittany: Believe it or not, the Douglas Richmond Party at the country club. What about you? Mariah: Im going too. Richard is a good friend with Sir Douglas Richmonds son. Brittany: Really? I didnt know that. This is gonna be so much funnow that youre gonna be there. Mariah: Yes, well have a wonderful time. Just then Andrea storms into the bedroom. Without realizing that Brittany has company. She blurts out. Andrea: Are you ready to snag yourself a rich husband? Mariah looks at Andrea in shock and then over at Brittany who is speechless. Andrea realizes that Megan and Mariah are there and clams up. Mariah: What are you talking about Mrs. OKeffe? Andrea doesnt know what to say. Brittany finally speaks since her mother wasnt planning on saying anything at all. Brittany: Shes only joking around Mariah. Mariah: Are you sure Brittany? Brittany: Im positive. I mean, look at the situation. My mother really wants me to get married and since were going to such a big fancy party where there will be tons of rich men, shes jokingly saying that one of them is going to be my Prince Charming, if you will. So, yeah, she was just joking. Mariah: Is that right Mrs. OKeffe? Were you just joking? Andrea: Of course. Mariah: Oh, I see. Its just that...oh never mind. Andrea: No, what is it Mariah. Go ahead...say it. Mariah: No, I dont think I should. You may get offended. Andreas eyes open wide. Megan and Brittany look at each other confused. Andrea: Well now Im really interested to hear what you were going to say. Mariah: Okay. Its just that you have the reputation of being a gold-digger. Andrea is shocked and her jaw hits the floor as does the mouths of Megan and Brittany. They are only surprised that Mariah actually said it. South Sea Watersdale Hospital Christina continues looking at Jodi confused. Christina: Will you tell me what youre talking about mother? Jodi: Huh? Christina: What are you talking about? You said he knows. What does he know? Jodi: Nothing. I dont know what I was saying. I got confused for a second. I thought that you were saying that your father told Edwin what we were talking about. Christina: No, he almost did though. What was it that you and father were talking about? Jodi: It doesnt matter now...it doesnt matter anymore. Jodi says as she tries to put on a smile. Jodi: Did you decide if youll be going to the party tonight? Christina: Yes, and Im not going to go. Jodi: Why not? Christina: Im just not up to it. Jodi: Do you want me to stay home with you? Christina: No, you go. Ill be fine. You, father and Edwin can go. I dont think anyone will miss me all that much. Jodi: Edwin isnt going either. He cant, actually. Christina: Why not? Jodi: You have to be at least nineteen. Christina: I see, well, at least I wont be home alone. Jodi: Thats right. Jodi looks at the clock on the wall. Jodi: Its already past six. I better get home to change. This damn thing starts at seven. Heaven forbid the Blakes should be late. Christina: Yes, you better hurry and get ready. You know how much father hates being late. Jodi nods and they walk out of the office. Quinn Home Sam walks through the front door. He stands in the foyer and looks down where Jennifer was laying. Sam: Where is she? Sam breathes heavily and walks into the living room and looks into the kitchen. Sam: Jenny? Jenny, are you here? Sam calls up the stairs and throughout the house. Nothing but silence is heard. There is a knock heard at the door. He opens it. Its the nosy next door neighbor. Sam: Hello Donna. Can I help you with something? Donna: No, actually. I came here to help you. Sam: Excuse me? I dont follow. Donna: Well, I heard you calling for your wifeso I suspect that you dont know what happened. Sam: Right. Do you know where she is? Donna: Oh yes. There was quite the scene here this afternoon. First your in-laws arrived. Then the paramedics, then the police. They took Jennifer out of here on a stretcher. She was completely unconscious. Your mother-in-law, Julia, she was hysterical crying. Sam: Oh God. Donna: Id get to the hospital if I were you. Sam: Thank you Donna. Sam begins to close the door and Donna continues speaking. Donna: If you need anything, Im right next door. Make sure you let me know what happens. Bye. Sam sits down on the stairs and puts his head down. South Sea Watersdale Hospital Julia, Martin and Amy are sitting next to the bed. Martin excuses himself and goes out into the hallway with Ellen. Amy: Grandma, do you really believe that mom is going to be okay? Julia: Yes, I do...dont you? Amy: I have faith, but I dont know how much difference it makes. Julia: It makes all the difference in the world, honey. As long as you know that your mom can get through this then she will. Keep that faith you have. In the hallway Martin sits down next to Ellen. Ellen: Grandpa, do you think that mom is going to die? Martin: No, I dont Ellen: I do. Martin: Excuse me? Ellen: Look at the facts. She has the rarest case of concussion known. Shes been in a coma for what? About six hours now? Martin: That doesnt mean a thing. You have to believe that your mother will live through this. That shes strong. Dont you want your mother to live? Ellen thinks for a moment and is about to answer just when Dominique comes running down the hallway. Dominique: Martin, Ellen. I just heard. I came straight over. Hows she doing? Martin: Shes not so great. Dominique: No. Ellen: Mrs. Wilson, my mother is going to die. Dominique gasps and looks stares at Ellen in shock. Martin turns and glares at Ellen. Martin also looks shocked by what hes just heard. Blake Mansion Brad is sitting in the grand room drinking a Brandy. Jodi and Christina walk in. Brad: Well, well, well, if it isnt the dynamic duo. Jodi: Shut up Bradley. Brad: To what do I owe this appearance? Jodi: Im here to get ready for the party this evening. Brad: The party? Jodi: Yes. The Annual Douglas Richmond Party that we are supposed to be at in less then an hour. Brad: Damn. Christina: Im going upstairs mother. Christina leaves and heads up the stairs. Jodi: Dont tell me you forgot. Brad: Shut up. Jodi: Weve only been talking about this party for the past month, and you forget? Brad: I cant go. Jodi: Excuse me? Brad: I cant go. Jodi: Youre not going to do this to me Bradley. You have to go. We have to be there together. Brad: Just go with the children and make an excuse for me. Jodi: Christina is not going and Edwin can not go. You must go. Brad: No. Jodi: Then Im not going either. Brad: The Blake Family has to be represented. Jodi: Then go and represent itbecause I wont. Brad: Youre a Blake and you will. Jodi: Im only a Blake because we were forced to marry each other. In my heart Im still a Grant. Brad is very disturbed by this and he gets up and goes over to her. He grabs her by the arm and pulls her close to him. Brad: You will attend this party tonight, you will make an excuse for me and you will represent the Blake Family, or else. Brad glares at Jodi angrily. Jodi trys to pull away from him and looks shocked by his actions. Velez Mansion David is still standing in front of Lindsey and everyone is waiting for an answer. Geovanna: Come on Lindsey. Just answer your papa. Yes or no. Lindsey: ...yes. Lindsey says it hesitantly, and then begins to cry. Lindsey: I know what Jose wants me to tell you. I will. Ill tell the whole story. Santa: Why dont we all go into the grand room and sit and listen to Lindsey. Everyone walks into the grand room. Jose goes and stands in front of the fireplace. David gets a drink and sits in an end chair, and Santa sits in the other. Lindsey and Geovanna sit together on the couch. David: Okay Lindsey. Go ahead. Lindsey: This morning I left here very early. I left so early for a reason. It was to meet someone, someone that Ive been secretly dating for seven months. Today Jose caught us together at the coffee house downtown. He dragged me out of there and away from who I was with. I told him the truth and then he brought me here to tell all of you. David: You arent dating Anthony Blake, are you? Lindsey: No. Santa: Then who? Lindsey: Jason Forbes. Geovanna, Santa and David all gasp. Geovanna: Sweetheart, Jason Forbes, the one that works in the factory with his father? Lindsey: That would be him. David: What the hell where you thinking? Jason Forbes...Lindsey? You can do better then that. I dont want my daughter dating a factory worker. Geovanna: Calm down David. David: I will not. My daughter is dating an employee of the Velez Family. Damn it. David yells and throws his drink against the wall. Santa gets up and takes Lindseys hand. Santa: Come with me. Lindsey stands up and goes with Santa. Geovanna stands up and goes over to David who is having another drink. Geovanna: Calm down David. Its that horrible. David: Excuse me Geovanna? What did you say? Its not that horrible that our daughter is dating a factory worker? Geovanna: No, its not. David: Youre mad. Geovanna: Youre ridiculous. Geovanna goes back and sits down on the couch. Jose then goes over to David. Jose: I told you. David: Yes, you did. David continues drinking and Jose stands beside him. Geovanna looks on. OKeffe Home Everyone is staring at Mariah in shock by what she has said. Andrea is finally able to spit something out. Andrea: Me...a gold-digger? Thats very funny Mariah. You actually believe those rumors. How nice of you. Mariah: Oh, no, Mrs. OKeffe, I dont believe them, I was just wondering if they were true. Andrea: They arent. Im not a gold-digger. Mariah: Well, if anyone knew, then I guess it would be you. Andrea: Yes. But Im sorry; girls youre going to have to be leaving now. Brittany and I have to leave for the party that were going to. Megan: Yes Mrs. OKeffe. Have fun. Bye Brit. Brittany: Bye Meg. Mariah: Goodbye. Ill see you guys at the party. Brittany: Okay. Bye. Megan and Mariah leave. Andrea goes right up to Brittany. Andrea: You look amazing. Youll catch the eye of every man at that party tonight. Brittany: Why thank you very much, but I still want you to know that Im not happy doing this. Andrea: Dont you start. Im going to put my dress on and Ill meet you downstairs in ten. Andrea walks out of the room. Brittany grabs her bag and walks out of the room. South Sea Watersdale Hospital Dominique and Martin continue to stare at Ellen, in shock by what she has just said. Dominique: Is that what the doctor told you Ellen? Ellen: No, but she is going to die. Martin: You stop saying that right now. Ellen: Im sorry grandpa, but its the truth. Dominique: Why would you say such a horrible thing? Ellen: Just because I know its the truth. I mean, look at her. Shes hooked up to a billion machines, she has the worst case of concussionits just common sense that shes going to die. Martin: I told you to stop saying that. Youre mother is going to be fine. Dominique: I agree with your grandfather, Ellen. You should have faith in your mother, that shell live. Ellen: Well, I dont. Just then Dr. Lewis and nurses come running down the hall and into the room. They tell Julia and Amy to leave. Dr. Lewis is yelling: code-blue. A nurse closes the door after Julia and Amy leaves the room. They are both crying. Martin: What happened? Julia: She flat-lined. Shes dead...oh, God. Martin hugs Julia and Amy. Dominique looks shocked. She goes over to the window and looks in as the nurses and doctors huddle around Jennifer trying to save her. Ellen stands against the wall and says in a loud voice. Ellen: I told you so. I told you that shed die. Everyone stares at Ellen. Blake Mansion Jodi manages to get Brad to let her go. She glares at him. Jodi: Or else what? Brad: How quickly we forget. Jodi: Excuse me? Brad: Dont you remember that I know your secret. I can easily expose you to the children and to this entire town as the tramp that you are. Jodi: How dare you. Brad: No, how dare you, my dear. So, what is it going to be? You attend this party, or your secret is exposed. Jodi thinks for a moment. Jodi: He cant know. But what if hes not bluffing and he really knows, hell expose me and thatll be the end of me. I cant take that risk. She looks back to Brad. Jodi: Fine, youve won this time. Ill go to the damn party. Brad: Good choice. Jodi gives him a dirty look and heads up the stairs. The Continental Country Club The lavish ballroom is filled with round tables and a large dance floor in the center, the large four-tier chandelier hangs over it. There is a small orchestra setting up just beyond the dance floor. Waiters and waitresses are making the last arrangements: placing centerpieces on tables, bringing out chairs and decorations. There are a few people already mingling around near the bar. Andrea and Brittany walk in through the large double doors in the back. Andrea goes into shock by what she sees. Brittany looks around in awe as well. Andrea: Isnt this just the most beautiful room you have ever seen in your entire life? Brittany: Its pretty amazing. Andrea: Yes, and just think, well be here all night with all the rich men that go along with this room. One of them is bound to fall in love with you. I just cant wait to see who. Brittany: Dont count your chickens before theyre hatched. Andrea: Im positive that youll be walking out of here tonight on the arm of a rich man. Brittany: I know your plan mom, and I couldnt care less if it works or not. I just want this night over with. Andrea: I really dont understand you. I mean, I bring you to this amazing place to find you a rich husband and all you can do is turn your nose up at it as if you were the Queen of England. Brittany: Im not turning my nose up at it mom. Im just saying that I dont think this is necessary. What difference does it make if I fall in love and marry a rich man or a man that works in a restaurant. Andrea: It makes all the difference in the world. Money controls everything, and if you can catch a rich husband then why turn him down. Brittany: Im not saying that Id turn down a rich man if he were to ask me to marry him. I would if I didnt like him, but if I liked him and he happened to be rich, then I most certainly wouldnt say no. Andrea: Thats good to hear. Just make sure if he has money you say yes. Brittany: Did you even hear a word I just said? Andrea begins to walk away. Andrea: Of course...come on...I see some rich people. Brittany: Its going to be one long night. Brittany sighs and follows her mother. Velez Mansion Santa and Lindsey walk into the library. Santa orders Lindsey to sit on the couch and she does. Santa then sits next to her. Santa: Listen, we cant spend too much time talking about this now, because we have a party to get to, but Id just like to tell you that Im highly disappointed in you. How dare you date a person like Jason Forbes? Youre a Velez. Velezs dont date people of his stature. Dont think that we wont talk more about this another time, because we will, I only want to make clear to you that you are never, ever to see that boy again. Do I make myself clear? Lindsey: Abuela, you have to... Santa: Yes or no. Lindsey: I wont stop seeing him. Santa: I demand that you stop seeing him. Do you understand? Lindsey: No, actually, I dont. I dont understand why I cant date him. I love him and he loves me. Santa: Do you honestly think that he loves you? If you do then you need help to get over being so naïve. Lindsey: He does love me, abuela. Santa: No, he doesnt. He wants your money. For what other reason would someone like him date someone like you? Lindsey: Ive already told you. For love. Santa: Get over him Lindsey because you are to never see him again. Now go upstairs and get ready for the party. Lindsey: No, I want... Santa: Go, now. Lindsey is crying. She stands up and walks out of the library. Santa: You better obey my wishes Lindseyyou and Jason will be sorry if you dont. Santa then walks out of the library and closes the door. Quinn Home Sam is sitting on the steps crying. There is a knock at the door. He opens it up. Sam: Donna, I...Chief Carter...what are you doing here? Chief Carter: Nice to see you again too, Quinn. Sam: Yeah, its been a long time, hasnt it? Chief Carter: It sure has. How have you been? Sam: Good...good. Everything is great. Chief Carter: Really? Is that because you killed your wife? Sams mouth drops. He stares at Chief Carter.
