Quinn Home (Living Room)

Dominique stood with her back to Jennifer, as she continued to question her and try to get the truth out of her. Jennifer knew that something was wrong with her friend. She hadn’t been acting normal lately and she had reacted so emotionally to the storyline in the soap that they had been watching.

“Dominique, I want to know what’s going on with you.” Jennifer demanded in a concerned tone. “I’m worried that you’re in some sort of trouble. You know that I’m here for you, no matter what. Why did you react the way you did when I told you about the storyline in the soap opera?”

Dominique remained silent as tears began to form in her eyes. She didn’t want to tell Jennifer the truth, even though she trusted her with her life. Jennifer became agitated with Dominique’s silence and grabbed her arm and swung her around to face her.

“You’re crying. Dominique…what’s wrong with you?” Jennifer asked, almost ready to begin crying herself.

Jennifer had never known Dominique to keep secrets or to get into any type of trouble. They had been friends ever since they met when Dominique and Kyle had moved to Watersdale from Miami over ten years earlier. To see Dominique this way hurt Jennifer. She wanted to get to the bottom of what was going on with her friend.

Richard’s Home (Richard’s Bedroom)

Richard was sound asleep in his bedroom, lying in his king size bed with navy blue sheets that covered his body to his waste. His toned chest was uncovered and his gentle breath’s were noticeable as he slept. Katie, who had managed to stay at the house for another night, quietly slipped into the room where the man of her dreams looked so heavenly as he slept. She felt like she wanted to jump right into bed with him and have him make love to her again.

“He has to be vulnerable after what Mariah supposedly did last night.” She quietly whispered to herself as she neared the bed. “Rich would be happy to wake up next to me and I’m sure that he’d want to make love.” She continued as she reached the bed and placed on knee up on it, ready to climb in. “This is it. Once Richard makes love to me this morning, he’ll forget all about Mariah. If he doesn’t, I still have my original plan.” She fully climbed into his bed and lay down next to him. She slowly caresses his chest with her hand.

Megan’s Apartment (Entrance Door)

Brittany stands in the doorway, looking down the hallway at her mother, who has just told her that her best friend, Megan has died. Of course, Brittany wasn’t aware that Andrea was only lying to make her suffer and mourn the loss of her friend, so she immediately began to cry. Andrea began walking back towards Brittany and reached the door, once again.

“It’s true.” Andrea said with a serious face. “Megan died, honey.”

Brittany slowly brought herself down the floor and began crying even harder then before. Andrea looked down at her and smiled. She knew that Brittany was suffering because she thinks that Megan is dead, and she loved it. Ever since Brittany left home and told her that she wasn’t going to be getting any perks from hers and Doug’s relationship, she’s wanted to make her suffer. Since she didn’t succeed in breaking them up, she had to try this, and it was working like a charm. She decided to continue the charade and perhaps get Brittany to once again trust her. She knelt down beside her.

“I’m so sorry honey. I was shocked as well. When I went in this morning they told me that she had died last night. I wanted to come and talk to you about it then, but I just couldn’t. I knew how heartbroken you’d be.” Andrea says to Brittany in the nicest, motherly voice that she could muster up.

“She was my best friend. What am I going to do without her? She was so nice…so sweet…so innocent. Why did this have to happen to her? Why?” Brittany was able to choke out, past her tears.

“There-there, Brittany. Everything will be just fine. I’m here for you. I know that this is a tough time for you, and I want us to put the past behind us and start a new mother-daughter relationship. The way it should be.” Andrea continued in her nice voice, as she rubbed Brittany’s back.

All of a sudden Brittany’s tear’s cut down. She looked at Andrea in a suspicious tone of eye. She began to stand up and back away from her.

“What’s wrong?” Andrea questioned, as she was beginning to become confused by Brittany’s actions.

“You’re unbelievable. I know what you’re up to. I know exactly what you’ve done and what you’re doing now. How could you be so ruthless…to me, your own daughter, no less.” Brittany said nastily as she shook her head and continued to gain distance from Andrea.

Andrea looked at her worried that she indeed did know what she was up too.

Velez Mansion (Santa’s Bathroom)

Miranda continued to hold and examine the small, black plastic wrapped box. She grew more and more curious as to what was in it, as the minutes past by. She decided to put it aside while she cleaned up the mess that the over-flowing toilet had caused. When she finished cleaning up the large amount of spilled water, she regained possession of the black plastic covered box. She exited the bathroom and bedroom holding the box.

“I can’t stop wondering what could be in here. Why would Santa cover a box in black plastic and put it in the tank of her toilet?” Miranda continued speaking aloud to herself. “I must give her credit, if she did put this there hoping to hide it, it sure was a good hiding place.” She paused for a moment and then looked worried. “Maybe I should put it back. I mean, I know Bianca is going to tell Santa that her toilet had overflowed. What if she decides to make sure that her hidden whatever this is, is still there? She’ll find that it’s gone and know that I took it. What am I going to do?”

She remained standing outside of Santa’s bedroom door and looked at the box suspiciously and continued to be confused as to what to do with it.

Richard’s Home (Richard’s Bedroom)

The soft touch of Katie’s hand rubbing his chest made Richard slowly begin to wake up. It was late in the afternoon, but he had stayed up late the night before. Katie had manipulated him into comforting her after Mariah had “attempted to kill her” with her car. Richard’s eyes adjusted to the sunshine, shining through the large windows that were directly in front of the foot of his bed. He turned his head to see Katie lying next to him, continuing to run her hand along his tan, toned chest. He was startled and took her hand off of him. He sat up in bed and looked down at a sexy Katie, who was hell-bent on seducing him again.

“What are you doing in my bed, Katie?” Richard asked on the verge of becoming furious.

“I needed you to comfort me. I thought we could just lay here for a little while so you can hold me.” Katie said with a nervous and scared look on her face. “I’m still a mess after what happened last night.” She continued, as innocently as possible.

“I still can’t believe that Mariah intentionally tried to kill you.” Richard said, shaking his head at the thought.

“Well, she did. You know how much she hates me. I thought I was going to be able to escape her, but she was to quick.” She continued, beginning to fake tears, “It was like a horror movie. She kept swerving, trying to hit me, and she finally did, and she did it with as much force as she possibly could. I thought I was dead for sure.” She continued to let the fake tears stream down her face.

Richard helped her to sit up and then sat close to her. He wrapped his arm around her and held her close to his body. “It’s okay. Everything is fine now. Mariah is out of our lives.”

Katie couldn’t help but smile when she heard this, but she quickly went back into character as the helpless victim. She couldn’t help but wonder what Richard had meant by that comment. Did he mean it the way she wanted him to mean it, or was it only a figure of speech, and would Mariah be back?

Cup-A-Joe (Front Counter)

Mariah sat at the counter with her chin down on her folded arms. Her twin sister, Maria came behind the counter and stood in front of her. Maria could tell that Mariah had been crying. Her eyes were red and puffy. Her hair wasn’t done up and she barely had any make-up on. Maria became suspicious. This wasn’t like Mariah.

“What’s going on, Mariah? What’s wrong? You look like you’ve been crying all day.”

“Try all night and day. I’ve been crying since last night.”

“Why? What happened?” Maria questioned as her curiosity continued to build.

“I think that Richard and I are finished. I don’t think we’ll ever be able to get back together. Katie’s won.” Mariah said, as she began to lightly cry again.

“What are you talking about, honey? What did that little tramp do now?” Maria asked as she began to become angry. If Katie had tried something else to break up her sister and Richard, she would have to get involved and confront Katie herself.

Mariah stood up and began to walk out of the coffeehouse. Maria ran from behind the counter and stopped her sister. “You haven’t told me what happened yet.”

“I can’t talk about it right now, Maria. Thanks for your concern. But, it’s all too fuzzy to me right now. Even if I try to talk about it, I’ll start crying again, and I need to take a break from that. I don’t think I have any tears left in me. I’ll see you later at home.” Mariah continued past Maria to the door, but Maria grabbed her arm and made her stop.

“You’re going to tell me right now, because if Katie did something to make you and Richard break up, I’m going to go to wherever the hell she is, and kick her ass. I mean it. That bitch has caused nothing but trouble for you since she came here. Now, tell me, did she cause you and Richard to break up?”

Mariah sighed and turned to face her sister.

Quinn Home (Living Room)

“I’m sorry Jennifer,” Dominique was able to say past her tears, “I have to get going.”

Dominique began to walk to the front door, but Jennifer stopped her.

“You better turn yourself around and bring those long legs of yours back over here. We are going to sit down and you are going to tell me what is going on with you.”

Dominique was able to stop crying. She walked back into the living room.

“Look, Jennifer, I know that you’re concerned, and I appreciate it, I really do. But, you have to understand that I’m going through a horrible time right now. It seems like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. I don’t want you to get involved. I don’t think you’ll quite understand my problem anyway. It’s probably just better if I go, okay?”

“No, it’s not okay.” Jennifer says sternly. “As far as I know, you’ve always told me about everything that is going on in your life. I’ve done the same with you. I’ve never kept anything from you, no matter how big the problem was. I would hope that you’d be able to talk to me about anything, as well.”

“Well, I can’t, okay? I just can’t!” Dominique yells. She continues to yell as she starts to cry again. “I can’t talk to you about this! I can’t talk to anybody about this! Nobody can ever find out!” She cries harder and falls down the floor and cries into her hand. “Oh God!” She continues to cry.

Jennifer covers her mouth with her hand, and then goes over and helps Dominique up. She leads her to the couch and they sit beside each other.

“Calm down, Dominique. You know that you want to get this off your chest. So, come on. Just tell me what’s going on with you.” Jennifer says in a comforting voice.

Dominique looks at her worried and confused.

Megan’s Apartment (Living Room)

“She can’t know what I’m up too.” Andrea thinks to herself as Brittany gains distance from her. She looks at her wondering what she’s thinking.

“You can’t fool me, mother. I know exactly what you’re doing.” Brittany continues.

Andrea decides to cut in and play stupid. “Well, I would hope so. I mean, I’m only trying to comfort my daughter, who is going through such a horrible time. It’s not everyday that your best friend dies.”

“No.” Brittany says sternly. “You have an ulterior motive. I know you do. You don’t do anything without an ulterior motive, that is usually meant to help you gain something.” She pauses and then begins to step closer to Andrea. “Well, I have news for you. I’ve been fooled enough times to know that you’re pulling some crap.”

“You are one-hundred percent wrong, Brittany.”

“No!” She interrupts. “I’m one-hundred percent right. You’re the one that’s wrong.”

“Listen, I apologized for everything that I’ve done in the past. I’m only trying to get back the relationship that we once had, a real mother-daughter relationship. This is just crazy. I hate fighting with you, and I don’t want to fight with you anymore. I came here because I found out that Megan had died. I thought that I should break the news to you because you’d have a shoulder to cry on.” Andrea says, once again, in her motherly voice.

“I don’t need your shoulder to cry on.” Brittany says seriously. “It does hurt me that Megan died and I will suffer and I will mourn her death, but I have a shoulder to cry on. Douglas will comfort me, and that is all the comfort that I need. So, with that, I’d like you to leave.”

“I…”

“No, mother!” Brittany interrupts once again. “Go…now.”

Andrea shakes her head and exits the apartment. Brittany slams the door behind her. She then leans against the back of the door and slowly slides down to the floor as she begins to cry again.

Velez Mansion (Hall)

Miranda remains outside of Santa’s bedroom, now pacing back and forth, but still keeping a grip on the black plastic covered box.

“Okay…I have to think this through. If I decide to keep this and look at it some other time, Santa might realize that I have it. I should really just put it back. I mean, I should have never even taken it out to begin with. I really want to know what’s inside though. Really, who keeps a box covered in black plastic in the tank of a toilet? Oh God. I’m so curious as to what could be in here.” She continues to debate with herself in her head. “I’m putting it back.” She starts for the door, but stops and looks at it again. “Well, what if I open it, see what’s inside and then wrap it back up and put it back where I got it? Santa wouldn’t know, would she?” She sighs loudly. “What to do…what to do.” She pauses for a moment. “I’m putting it back. I have too.” She starts for the door again, but hears a familiar voice that stops her dead in her tracks.

“You stop right there!” The voice says sternly.

“Oh no! Santa’s caught me red handed!” She thinks to herself.

Cup-A-Joe (Counter)

Maria remains standing in front of her emotionally hurt sister. She takes her hand and leads her back to the counter and they sit in stools beside each other. Maria wanted to know everything that happened the night before that made Mariah cry so much. She was ready to kill Katie, if Mariah would only say the words.

“Come on, Mariah. Answer my question. Did Katie cause you and Richard to break up?”

“We didn’t break up. I’m not sure where we stand.” Mariah continued on to tell her the whole story about how Katie appeared out of nowhere and she hit her. How her and Richard thought that Katie was dead, but that she miraculously recovered. Everything except the part about never calling an ambulance and then cutting Richard’s phone line so he couldn’t call.

Maria was in shock when Mariah told her that Katie had claimed that she hit her on purpose.

“So, she did cause this rift in your relationship.” Maria said furiously.

“I guess so, yes. But, you know, what really gets to me is that Richard actually believed her when she claimed that I had purposely hit her. He knows that she’s a conniving little bitch. He knows that I wouldn’t intentionally hurt anybody, even if she was my worst enemy.” Mariah sighs loudly, still confused as to what to do.

“Well, I’m sure that he’ll realize that he’s wrong soon enough. He’ll kick Katie out of the house and then come crawling to you and beg for forgiveness. He loves you Mariah, he can’t live without you, and even if he is acting like a typical guy now, he won’t ever let Katie come between the two of you. I mean, she may try to seduce him, but he won’t succumb to her. You have nothing to worry about.” Maria says in hopes of making her sister feel better, as well as hoping that she is right.

Richard’s Home (Richard’s Bedroom)

Richard is sitting in his bed, holding Katie close to him. She can hardly believe what he has just said. That Mariah is out of their lives. She so wanted him to mean it the way she hoped, but she knew that he had to have meant it another way. She looked up at him with puffy eyes, from her fake crying.

“Are you serious, Richard? Is…is Mariah out of our lives, forever?” She asked timidly.

Richard looks at her confused. He then realizes exactly what he said. He knows that she was taking it a different way then how he meant it, but he felt bad for her and wanted to comfort her. The last thing that he wanted Katie thinking about was Mariah. So he decided to agree with her for now, but vowed to tell her that he was only sparing her emotions, and would tell her how he really meant it when she is more stable. With that thought he looked down at her and said, “Yes, Katie. She’s out of our lives.”

Katie looked away so he couldn’t see the huge smile on her face. “I can’t believe how easy that was. I don’t care though, I’m not complaining. Now, I’ve got Richard and we’ll be together forever.” She thought in her head as she continued to grin.

She then turned back to Richard and she looked deep into his dark eyes. He glared into her magnificent green eyes and almost like magic she was able to pull him into a kiss and as the minutes went by they became more acquainted with each other’s bodies, until they were on the verge of making love.

Quinn Home (Living Room)

“You’re right.” Dominique says, getting past her tears. “I have to get this off my chest. You really are the only person that I can confide in. I should have told you a long time ago. At least you’d already be helping me get through this and perhaps Roger wouldn’t have been murdered.”

Jennifer became more curious as to what Dominique’s problem was. She wondered if she is the one that murdered Roger and decided to ask her.

“No!” Dominique yelled. “Of course I didn’t murder him. I wasn’t quite as heartbroken as I had seemed with his death, though. I was actually relieved when I found out that he had died.”

Hearing this from Dominique shocked Jennifer. “Why would you be relieved? Did you want him to die?”

“You know what? None of that matters! He’s dead and that’s the end of it. But, that’s not what is bothering me.” Dominique continued. “What’s bothering me is much like Lizzie’s story in that soap opera that you were watching earlier.”

Jennifer was even more confused by this and joked, “Well, it can’t be. It’s not like you’re going to tell me that you were untrue to Kyle and that Matthew is not his son.” Jennifer began laughing, but stopped when she saw the serious expression remain on Dominique’s face.

Dominique began to nod her head ‘yes.’ “That’s exactly what my secret is.”

“No…Dominique…no!” Jennifer was shocked beyond belief by this. She just remained staring at Dominique in disbelief.

“That’s why I was with David Velez. That’s how I broke my arm. We were in a car accident, while we were driving down the road talking about how we were going to cover up Matt’s true paternity.” Dominique sighed, not believing that she was actually telling somebody about this. She continued, “You see, Roger found out that Kyle isn’t Matt’s father. That’s why I was kind of pleased when I learned of his death. I knew that there would then be no way of my secret getting to Kyle. Roger had been so mean to me, too. Threatening to tell Kyle about my secret.”

“So, wait a minute.” Jennifer interrupted. “Why were you discussing this with David Velez?” Jennifer waited for an answer but before Dominique could answer, she realized. “Oh…David Velez is Matthew’s real father, isn’t he?”

Dominique looked at Jennifer shyly. She began shaking her head ‘no.’
Jennifer looked at Dominique, confused once again. “I’m lost. You were with David Velez talking about how you would cover up Matthew’s true paternity, yet he’s not the father.” Jennifer paused for a moment, trying to figure it out, but she couldn’t. “I really don’t get it, Dominique. If it isn’t David and it isn’t Kyle, then who is Matthew’s father?”

Dominique stayed quite for a little while and then looked back at Jennifer. “David’s brother…David’s dead brother, Carlos. Carlos Velez is Matthew’s father.”

Jennifer covered her mouth with her hand as she opened her mouth and let out a gasp.

O’Keffe Home (Backyard)

Andrea entered her backyard with a smile on her face. She felt accomplished as she had just made Brittany feel miserable by telling her that Megan had died. Of course, she took the risk of having Brittany find out that Megan was really alive, which she knew would happen sooner or later, but for now, Brittany was suffering and that was the important thing. That’s all she wanted, and she got it. As she took a seat in a lawn chair, her husband, Jim walked out into the yard.

“Well, well, well, don’t you look as happy as a clam.” Jim said with a smile on his own face as he took a seat beside his manipulative wife. “Did you get rid of Megan?”

“Not exactly.” Andrea said, with her grin still in place.

“Then why are you so happy?” Jim questioned confused.

“Because, I tried to kill Megan but something is protecting that girl, I swear. But, anyway, I guess this morning she miraculously came too and is doing just fine.” As Jim remained looking at her confused, she continued “However, I wouldn’t let the nurse call Brittany and tell her that. I volunteered to deliver the message to our lovely daughter personally.”

“That wasn’t the plan. That means you didn’t get your way. Why are you so happy? I’m still confused.”

“I never said that I was going to deliver that message to her, you dunce.” Andrea rolled her eyes and sighed. “I went to Megan’s apartment and luckily found Brittany there. I told her that Megan had finally past away. Uh! You should have seen the look on her face! It was priceless, I tell you! The way she cried. It’s so tragic.” Andrea giggled.

“So, you did get what you wanted. Brittany is suffering.” Jim assumed.

“I got half of what I wanted. That’s no big deal though. I have another plan, and Brittany is going to be loyal to us once again and she will never doubt us once I get through with her. This plan is foolproof and anything else want to call it. There is no way that I’m going to let Brittany get away with what she did to us.” Andrea laughed sinisterly. Jim smiled and then began laughing as well.

Velez Mansion (Hall)

Miranda is afraid to turn around knowing that Santa is standing right behind her. She couldn’t believe that she got caught red handed. She slowly began to turn around, deciding to face the music. When she fully turned around she let out a sigh of relief.

“Señora Geovanna. You scared me half to death! I though that you were Santa. I was sure that my days in this mansion were going to be numbered. Thank goodness it’s only you.” Miranda says, very relieved.

“You didn’t think that I’d let you put that box back. We have to find out what’s inside of it. This could be another lead to some horrible thing that Santa has done.” Geovanna said, hoping that it would be. “I heard your whole conversation with yourself. I was quite amusing. You are a stronger woman then I am. I wouldn’t have made it out of her room before ripping that box open to see what I’d find inside.”

“Well, I like to do the right thing. And the right thing is to now go and put this back where I found it.” Miranda said turning around to go back to the bathroom.

Geovanna grabs her arm and turns her around. “Oh no you don’t. You know that you’re curious as to what’s inside there. It’s eating me alive. Come on, we’ll go to my room and open it.”

“No, señora!” Miranda yells, trying to intimidate Geovanna. “We’re not opening this box. I’m going to put it back where I found it.”

“No, you’re not!” Geovanna yells, reaching for the box.

Miranda takes it out of her reach. Geovanna goes for it again, but Miranda is too quick. Geovanna goes for it again and hit’s Miranda’s hand, forcing the box to go flying down the staircase. Miranda runs after it and regains it.

“Stop, señora! This is ridiculous!” Miranda yells as they stand on the landing of the stairs.

“You stop, Miranda. Just hand over the box.” Geovanna says as she reaches for it again and gets it. Miranda keeps hold of it and they struggle for it. They almost fall down the stairs, but Geovanna yells, “Stop!” They stop struggling and stare at each other. Geovanna walks down the stairs and motions for Miranda to join her. Miranda walks down there and stand in front of her.

“What?” Miranda asks.

Geovanna tires to grab the box again, but Miranda runs away. Geovanna chases her into the dining room and around the table. Miranda is now trapped between the table and the wall. Geovanna is on the other side. “I’ve got you now!” She yells across the table.

They jockey for position, Miranda trying to get around the table and past Geovanna.

“You listen to me, Miranda. I demand that you give me that box!” Geovanna yells as she bounces to the right and to the left, not giving Miranda a chance to get around the table.

“No! I’m not giving it to you! I need to put it back!” Miranda yells back, as she is also jumping to the left and right, trying to find the perfect opportunity to get past Geovanna.

“I’ll fire you if you don’t give me that thing right now!”

“Oh yeah? And what are you going to tell Santa? That you fired me because I wouldn’t let you have a mysterious little box that I found in her toilet?”

Geovanna stops jumping back and forth with Miranda when she says this, and Miranda sees it as a perfect opportunity to get past Geovanna and back upstairs.

Miranda runs back out into the foyer but trips on the foot of a table. The box goes flying and lands on the floor under another table. Miranda begins to get up, but stops on her hands and knees when she sees two feet standing in front of her. She looks up to see the face of Santa. Geovanna looks worried as she peers out from behind the doorway of the dining room.

Santa folds her arms and remains staring down at a scared and nervous Miranda, who is biting her lip as she looks up at her with wide, obviously nervous, eyes.
