Richard's House (Dining Room)
Richard is sitting at the dining room table as Katie takes dirty plates, silverware, etc. off of the table and into the kitchen.

Richard: Thanks a lot for that dinner, Katie. It was really good. I didn't know you knew how cook so well.

Katie: I guess that's my hidden talent. It's really no problem. I find it so easy and fun at the same time.

Richard: I think you've gone into the wrong career field. You should be a chef.

Katie: Me? No. I might be able to put together a nice small meal, but I wouldn't be able to be a chef.

Richard: Why not? You cook fast and everything is so good.

Katie: Thanks for the flattery, but no, I don't think I could ever be a chef.

Richard: But you can deal with cutting open bodies and stuff like that. Well, whatever floats your boat.

Katie laughs as she walks back into the kitchen.

Katie: I'm going to wash the dishes.

Richard: Don't bother. Put them into the dishwasher.

Katie: It's all right. I don't have anything better to do.

Richard: Okay then. I have some paper work to finish up. I'll be in my study.

Katie: Okay.

Richard walks out of the dining room and heads for his study. Katie stands in front of the sink in the kitchen, washing the dishes that her and Richard had just dirtied. She giggles and then speaks quietly to herself.

Katie: This is just how it's going to be from now on. I'll cook dinner and we'll eat together with no interruptions and I'll clean and he'll do his work from the hospital. Oh, everything will be perfect. All I've ever wanted for Richard and I since we first met is this, and I've finally got it. Well, almost. I still have Mariah to deal with, but soon, she won't be a problem anymore.

Katie giggles again, as she continues to clean the dishes.

Blake Mansion (Study)
Brad is sitting behind his desk talking on the phone.

Brad: Oh really? I bet you could show me a good time. Naughty, naughty girl! Yeah? Me too.

Brad continues to talk dirty with the girl on the other end of the line and laughs and purrs like a lion every so often. There is then a knock at the door and Anthony enters. Brad becomes serious. He clears his throat.

Brad: Uh, yes. I'll have to get back to you on that. Goodbye.

He hangs up the telephone and stands up. He walks over to Anthony.

Brad: What a pleasant surprise, a visit from my eldest son. Is there something I can do for you?

Anthony: I just thought that I'd come down and spend a little bit of time with you. I'm leaving tomorrow morning and we haven't even had that much time together.

Brad: That's right, we haven't. I guess your mother was hogging you.

Anthony: You know how mother is.

Brad: Boy, do I ever.

Anthony: What's that supposed to mean?

Brad: Oh, nothing. The last thing that I'd want to do is talk negatively about your mother, knowing how much you respect and honor her.

Anthony: Why would you have anything negative to say about her?

Brad: Tony…Tony, let's just forget about that right now. Let's have a little chat about our businesses.

Brad says as he directs Anthony to the sofa. They sit beside each other.

Anthony: Tony…our businesses? Are you drunk? You've never called me Tony my whole life, and since when have we had a common business?

Brad: I'm not drunk. I can't call you Tony? Fine, Anthony, how's your business?

Anthony: Acting?

Brad: Yes…that is your business, right?

Anthony: Yes father. That's my business.

Brad: So, how is it?

Anthony: I've already told you. It's fine. I'm working on a movie and promoting another. That's why I'm on my way to New York City.

Brad: How are you going to promote this film in New York City?

Anthony: Well, I'm going to be on a few talk shows.

Brad: Any that I would know?

Anthony: Unless you've been living under a rock then, yes. I'm going to be on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," "Live with Regis and Kelly" and "David Letterman."

Brad: Oh. That's nice.

Anthony: Yeah. Father, are you okay? You don't seem to be yourself?

Brad: Yes…I'm fine.

Brad stands up and takes two steps and collapses to the floor.

South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Megan's Room)
Megan is still in a coma, lying in her hospital bed. Brittany and Douglas are both sitting on the sofa on the other end of the room.

Brittany: Jodi left to talk to Dr. Lewis over two hours ago. Where is she? I really want to know if Megan has alcohol poisoning.

Douglas: So do I. I don't know her that well, but she seems very nice. I would hate it if something happened to her.

Brittany: So would I. You have no idea. She's the best friend anyone could ever hope to have. I'd be lost if she died.

Douglas: I don't think her condition is that bad. I bet she'll come out of this just fine.

Brittany: I hope so.

Jodi walks into the room. Brittany and Douglas stand up and go over to her.

Brittany: I was getting worried, Jodi. You were gone for so long.

Jodi: I'm sorry. It's just that Dr. Lewis wasn't in when I went to talk to him. I had to wait for him to come back, and then it took forever to finally speak to him.

Brittany: Well, what did he say? Does he believe that Megan has alcohol poisoning?

Jodi: No. He doesn't think she does.

Brittany lights up.

Brittany: Oh my God! This is wonderful.

Douglas: Don't get too excited Brittany. Something has to be wrong with Megan and if it's not alcohol poisoning, then what is it?

They both look at Jodi for an answer.

River Ridge Park (Park Bench)
Lindsey is sitting on a park bench in River Ridge Park. It's a breezy night, so she is wraps her white sweater around her bare arms. She sobs.

Lindsey: Why did I come here? It's only making me think about Jason more and more. I can never look at this park in the same way ever again. I mean, this is where the love of my life was taken away from me.

She stands up and slowly walks down the footpath. She is looking down. She stops and looks down at the ground strangely. She walks over to the edge of the path and picks up a folded piece of paper that has her name on it. She takes it and goes back to the bench with it. She continues to look at it strangely.

Lindsey: Why does this piece of paper have my name on it? Oh…well, it's not like I'm the only girl named Lindsey in Watersdale. But, this looks so much like Jason's handwriting. I have to open it.

She slowly and carefully opens the piece of paper. She begins to cry.

Lindsey: It is Jason's handwriting. It's a poem…and it's about me. Oh…he must have wanted to give this to me that night. He probably dropped it on his way to the concession stand.

She begins reading out loud. Soon she starts to hear Jason's voice saying it to her.

Lindsey: The light of your life can only be someone who is special to you. Someone who you love

Lindsey and Jason's voice: and who loves you back.

Jason's voice: The light of my life is Lindsey. She's the most beautiful creature that you'd ever hope to see. Her dark brown eyes intrigue me. Her dark flowing hair wraps me with comfort. There is only one light in my life. There is only one Lindsey to me.

Lindsey and Jason's voice: She's the one I love forever and always.

Lindsey: The one that I will spend my life with until my dying day. And if she were to die before me, I would have no choice, but to kill myself, for I can never spend a moment without the light of my life.

Lindsey begins to cry hysterically as she fold the paper and puts it into her purse.

Lindsey: I can never spend a moment without you in my life either, Jason. That's why I'm going to kill myself. I have to be with you.

She stands up and runs down the footpath and out of the park.

Funeral Home (Main Lobby)
Dominique, Kyle, Alexis and Matt walk into the funeral home. There are already a few people there, who are just sitting in the lobby waiting to be allowed to enter the room, which holds Roger's casket. As Kyle and his family walk through the lobby he waves to a few people as he passes. They reach the back of the lobby where there is a closed door.

Kyle: Dominique, stay here with the kids while I go talk with Mr. Mortimer.

Dominique: Okay.

Kyle walks through the door. On the other side he walks up a long hallway. He walks into a man's office and sits down across from him. It's an elderly skinny man with whiting hair and a small mustache. It's Mr. Mortimer, the owner of the funeral home.

Kyle: Good evening, Mr. Mortimer.

Mr. Mortimer: Kyle, hello there. How are you this evening?

Kyle: I've been better, as you can imagine.

Mr. Mortimer: I sure can. It must be hard to loose such a young member of the family.

Kyle: It really is. I've come to make sure that everything is set so we can start letting people in to see Roger.

Mr. Mortimer: Yes, I believe everything is set. If you would like, we can go into the room where he is and you can take a look. Just to be sure that everything is to your liking.

Kyle: I'm sure it will be.

Mr. Mortimer: Follow me.

They walk out of his office and go a few doors down into another room. They walk through the large double doors and on the other side, in front of a row of five windows is the mahogany casket with Roger's body inside. Kyle looks at it from across the room and can see his brother inside, who is dressed in a blue suit. He slowly walks up to the casket and looks down at it. He then looks around the room at the many chairs that are set up and all of assortment of flowers that decorate the room. A tear rolls down the side of Kyle's face.

Kyle: It all looks great.

Mr. Mortimer: Will you be okay?

Kyle: Yes. Thank you. Let's just start getting people in here. The faster this is all over with, the better.

Mr. Mortimer: I agree. There is no reason to extend the pain.

They walk out of the room and head back to the lobby.

Richard's Home (Living Room)
Katie is standing in front of the entertainment center holding two videocassettes. She calls out to Richard, who is still in his office.

Katie: Hey Richard, which movie do you want to watch?

Richard: What?

Katie: I rented two movies this afternoon. Which one do you want to watch?

Richard: Um, I really have to finish this report before I can do anything. Besides, I didn't see Mariah yesterday or all day today. I think I should go visit her.

Katie: Well, I don't want to watch these movies all alone. It'll be too lonely. Come on, I got "Miss Congeniality" and "You've Got Mail." Which one do you want to watch first?

Richard: I'm sorry Katie, but I can't watch either one right now. I have to finish this report.

She sighs and throws the videos on the couch. She talks to herself.

Katie: I have to get him to watch these with me. It's all part of my plan. If I get him to watch these movies with me, then I'll be able to push myself on him and he won't be able to resist me. He'll be reminded of the passion that we shared just a few years ago when we were dating. He'll finally realize that he should be with me and he'll dump that annoying bitch, Mariah. I can't really complain though. She didn't come around yesterday or today. But that's her fault. She's just giving me more and more time to make Richard realize that he belongs with me.

Katie giggles and starts towards the kitchen, but the doorbell rings and she runs back to open it. It's Mariah. Katie is surprised and says nothing. She only looks at Mariah in disgust.

Mariah: What the hell are you still doing here?

Katie doesn't know what to say, Mariah waits, determined.

Forbes Home (Living Room)
Paul is sitting in his living room when the doorbell rings. He walks over to the door to find Lindsey standing on the other side. She walks right in and wraps her arms around him as she continues to cry hysterically. Paul returns her hug.

Paul: It's okay, Lindsey. It'll be okay. Calm down.

Lindsey pulls back and looks at Paul.

Lindsey: I…I am so, so sorry. I can't believe my grandmother has done such a thing.

Paul: Lindsey, I warned you and Jason of this. I knew they were going to do something if you and him didn't stop seeing each other.

Lindsey: I know, and I'm so sorry. I mean, if we would have just stopped seeing each other, then he'd be fine right now. I'd much rather have him alive and well then having to bury him in just three days.

Paul: I'm afraid that we're not going to be having a big funeral or wake. I'm going to have him buried in a regular wooden box in Carpenter Field. I don't have enough money for all that.

Lindsey: No, you can't do that! I'll pay for everything. You don't have to worry about a thing.

Paul: I'm sorry, but I can't accept. I appreciate it, but I really can't accept your offer.

Lindsey: I insist.

Paul: Your family wouldn't let you. They didn't like Jason to begin with. Do you think they'll actually let you pay for his wake and funeral?

Lindsey: They don't have anything to say about this. Besides, my mother would stand up for me if my grandmother or father tried to stop me from paying for his accommodations. She knows how much I loved him, and he deserves to have the perfect wake and funeral.

Paul: How could I ever repay you?

Lindsey: You wouldn't have too. I loved Jason with all of my heart and soul. I want to do this.

Paul: Thank you so much, Lindsey. Jason found a perfect girl in you.

Lindsey: There's no need to thank me. And, as far as me being perfect…well, nobody is perfect, but Jason helped me to become a better person.

Paul: He was a fine young man.

Lindsey: I just wish that he were still alive. I'd do anything to have him be alive. I'd give away everything that I own. Hell, I'd even sell my soul. Just to have Jason alive.

Paul: I'd do anything too, but the thing is that we can't do anything. We just have to live with the fact that he's gone, for the rest of our lives.

Lindsey looks away and thinks to herself: "It won't be long before my life is over. Right after we bury Jason, I'm going to commit suicide."

South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Megan's Room)

Brittany: Jodi, please, tell us exactly what happened to Megan.

Jodi: Well, like I said, Dr. Lewis and I don't believe for a moment that it's alcohol poisoning. We do believe that her drink, whatever it was she was drinking, was spiked with a drug or some type of poisoning.

Brittany: Oh my God. Who would do something like this to her?

Jodi: I told you earlier that Dr. Lewis had a patient that came in who was poisoned. Well, he just told me that she was at that same club that you told me about, the night before.

Douglas: Do you think it's a trend? Is someone spiking a bunch of people's drinks with poisoning?

Jodi: That could very well be it. However, to only have two cases of it is very rare, if it was in fact a trend.

Brittany: Do you know if Megan is going to be all right?

Jodi: I can't say for sure, but I have seen people recover from different types of poisoning. However, I must tell you this, but the girl that Dr. Lewis treated, unfortunately, she died.

Brittany: So, if it's the same poisoning, then Megan will die?

Jodi: I don't know. But we are going to try our best to see that she doesn't die, okay?

Brittany: Thanks, Jodi.

Jodi: No problem. I'll be back in a little bit to check in on her.

Brittany nods and Jodi leaves the room. Douglas leads Brittany back to the couch and they sit beside each other. Brittany begins to cry.

Brittany: I won't be able to deal with it, Doug. If she dies…I'll…

Douglas: She's not going to die, okay? Keep thinking positive.

Brittany: But you heard Jodi. That girl from last week died, and it's possible that Megan was poisoned with the same thing that girl was.

Douglas: Listen, honey, all we can do is just wait and see. I have faith that Megan will pull through.

Doug pulls Brittany towards him and hugs her tightly.

Blake Mansion (Study)
Anthony stands up and goes to Brad's side. He tries to get him up.

Anthony: Father…father. Wake up. Father!

He stands up and runs out of the study and calls down the hall for Jamie, the maid. She comes running into the room.

Jamie: Oh my goodness! Mr. Blake! Anthony, what happened?

Anthony: I don't know…we were talking and I noticed that he was acting odd, he said he was fine, but almost immediately after he stood up, he collapsed.

Jamie: I don't know what to do. He doesn't like hospitals or doctors. If I call an ambulance he might get mad at me.

Anthony: We don't have any other choice. We have to call an ambulance.

Edwin and Christina come running into the study.

Christina: Anthony, what's going on? I heard you…oh my God…

Edwin: Father!

Everyone is now standing and keeling over Brad's body.

Edwin: Are you guys waiting for a special invitation to call an ambulance? Can't you see something's wrong?

Jamie: Edwin, your father doesn't like hospitals or doctors.

Christina: Well, he's going to have to get over that, because they are going to save his life.

Edwin: Not if someone doesn't call an ambulance soon.

Jamie: I'm not calling. I don't want him to get mad at me.

Edwin: Oh my God! I'll call!

Edwin goes to the phone on Brad's desk and calls for an ambulance.

Edwin: Hello, this is Edwin Blake, of the Blake family here in Watersdale. Yes. I need an ambulance to come to the mansion immediately, my father, Bradley, has just collapsed and he needs medical attention right away. What do you mean ten minutes? We need an ambulance now! If you don't send one right this instant then…thank you. We'll be waiting.

Edwin hangs up the telephone and turns to the others.

Edwin: There, now father will be just fine. And, it's because I was the smart one who decided to call an ambulance.

Christina: Thank you, Edwin. I don't understand what happened. Father has always been very healthy.

Anthony: I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Funeral Home (Viewing Room C)
Alexis is kneeling down on the kneeler in front of casket that Roger is inside of.

Alexis: Please God, watch over my uncle when he gets to heaven. He was such a good man, and he deserves to be in heaven with you. I still don't understand why he had to die. It's not like he did anything bad. Well, I guess it was just his time to go. I love you, Uncle Roger. I'll never, ever forget you.

Dominique was standing close behind Alexis and she thinks to herself: "Roger wasn't such a good man. He did do bad things, especially to me. But not anymore...he can't ruin my life with the truth about Matt's paternity, because he's dead. How happy that makes me. I can't let Kyle see that happiness though, I'll be in big trouble if he does." Just then, Kyle walks up behind her and puts his hands on her sides.

Kyle: How are you holding up?

Dominique: I'm doing okay, I guess. It's just so hard to see Roger in that casket. I loved him as if he were my own brother.

Kyle: I know you did.

Dominique: How about you? How are you doing? This has to be that hardest on you. He was your only sibling, and he was younger.

Kyle: It's hard…yes. But, I'm trying to be strong, especially for the kids.

Dominique: Oh yes, Alexis and Matt are both torn up by this.

Kyle: I know, and it hurts me to see them like this. I've never seen Matt looking so dull…so sad. Alexis either.

Dominique: We'll all be able to pull through this. I know we will. We just have to be strong for each other.

Kyle: I agree.

Then, Sam and Jennifer walk over to Kyle and Dominique. Jennifer goes and gives Dominique a big hug, and Kyle too. Sam shakes Kyle's hand and hugs Dominique.

Jennifer: How are you guys doing? This has to be so hard on the two of you. We're really sorry.

Kyle: Thank you.

Dominique: Thanks, Jenny. It is really hard. He was such a big part of the family.

Sam: So, he was really murdered, huh?

Kyle: Yeah.

Sam: Do you know who did it yet? Are they at least investigating?

Kyle: Yes, and hopefully they'll find the bastard soon. Chief Carter is personally handling it.

Jennifer: That's great. I'm sure he'll find whoever did this.

Dominique: Well guys, will you excuse Jennifer and I. We have something to discuss.

Kyle and Sam nod and continue talking. Dominique and Jennifer walk out into the hall just outside the room where Rogers wake is being held.

Jennifer: What did you want to talk about?

Dominique: I just wanted to make sure that you're okay.

Jennifer: Yes, I'm fine…why?

Dominique: Because, I haven't seen you since you were released from the hospital and I just wanted to make sure that Sam wasn't hitting you anymore.

Jennifer looks at Dominique strangely as soon as she hears this.

Richard's Home (Living Room)
Mariah walks right past Katie and into the apartment.

Mariah: I asked you a question. I want an answer. What are you still doing here?

Katie slams the door and thinks to herself: "Damn you, Mariah Cortez. Why did you have to show up?" She then turns around and faces Mariah.

Katie: How rude of you, Mariah.

Mariah: Excuse me?

Katie: Barging into our apartment like that.

Mariah: Our apartment? If you're referring to it as yours and Richards, then you are very mistaken. You shouldn't even still be here.

Katie: And, where pray tell would you like me to be?

Mariah: At your own apartment. You don't need to be here all the time anymore.

Katie: Have you forgotten? I live here with Richard. I don't have my own apartment.

Mariah: You didn't buy that one that we went to see together?

Katie: Well, things didn't work out.

Mariah: What do you mean? Everything was set for you to buy it. Why didn't you?

Katie: It just wasn't my style and I didn't like it that much.

Mariah: I'm willing to bet any amount of money that you didn't take it because you don't want to move out of this apartment. You want to continue living with Richard, so you can try to manipulate and seduce him back into your arms.

Katie: What would give you that idea? I'm just…

Mariah: Shut up, you slut!

Katie is appalled when she hears this and gasps. She goes to slap Mariah, but she catches her arm in the air.

Mariah: Oh no you don't.

Katie: Let go of me.

Mariah: Okay.

Mariah pulls Katie to the front door, opens it and pushes her out of the apartment and slams the door and locks it. Katie stands on the outside banging and yelling trying to get back in. Mariah opens the curtain that is covering the window in the door. She smiles and waves at Katie. This makes Katie angrier and she picks up a brick and throws is right through the window. Mariah ducks and it just misses hitting her in the head. However, she gets covered in broken glass. Richard comes running out of the room and shocked by what he sees.

Richard: Mariah! What's going on?

He helps her get all of the glass off of her and then helps her up. Her and Katie stare at each other angrily through the broken window.

Funeral Home (Hall)

Jennifer: What makes you think that Sam is hitting me?

Dominique: Well, because you were in the hospital and almost died after he pushed you down the stairs.

Jennifer: Not you too, Dominique.

Dominique: What? That's why your father told me. Amy told me the same thing.

Jennifer: My father was suspicious of Sam, and he thought that he pushed me down the stairs, but he didn't. He didn't do anything that caused me to be in the hospital. I just lost my balance and fell down the stairs. It was nothing.

Dominique: Are you sure? You know that you can tell me anything.

Jennifer: I'm positive, and I know that I can tell you anything. If there was anything to tell, then I'd let you be the first to know, you're my best friend.

Dominique: I can't help but still be a little suspicious of Sam, because, for a little while he was being kind of off the wall. It was so...

Jennifer: I don't want to talk about it anymore. Sam is fine and our marriage is fine. He wouldn't do anything to hurt me.

Jennifer walks back into the room where the casket is. She goes to the kneeler and kneels down on it and begins to pray for Roger. Dominique goes and stands nearby, waiting and listening to what Jennifer says.

Jennifer: Lord, watch over Roger. Help Kyle find whoever did this horrible thing. Roger did not deserve this. He was a good man.

Dominique sighs at the sound of that and, without thinking, she blurts out.

Dominique: My God! He wasn't a good man. Doesn't anybody but me realize that?

Dominique realizes that she said that out loud and everyone looks at her in shock. Kyle comes up behind her and yells.

Kyle: What the hell did you just say?

Dominique stands there, scared and nervous.
