Episode 22 - June 23rd, 2001 South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Megan's Room)
Megan is asleep in her hospital bed. Brittany and Douglas walk into the room. Brittany sits in a chair next to Megan's bed and Douglas stands behind her. Brittany takes Megan's hand in hers. Brittany: Pull through this, Megan. You're my best friend and I don't know what I would do without you. Douglas: I'm sure she'll be fine. That doctor from yesterday never really told us anything about her condition. As far as how she got like this. Brittany: You're right. I wonder where that doctor is. Douglas: But isn't Jodi, Megan's doctor? Brittany: Yes, but I don't know if she'll know everything about Megan's condition and how she got like this. Douglas: I'm sure she will. Jodi then walks into the room. Jodi: Is she still hanging in there? Jodi stands on the other side of the bed looking at the machines and pressing some buttons on a few of them. Douglas: Jodi, we were wondering how Megan got like this. Jodi: Dr. Shinto didn't tell you? Brittany: No. I think he was going to, but he was called away. Jodi: I see. Well. You see the thing is that Megan was poisoned. Brittany gasps and puts her hand over her mouth. Quinn Home (Foyer) Jennifer had just let her parents out. She had closed the door and found Sam standing in front of her when she turned around. They stand there staring at each other. Jennifer finally speaks. Jennifer: Good afternoon, Sam. Sam: Yeah. Listen, I've got a few things to tell you. Jennifer: You want to talk? Sam: Yes. Jennifer smiles and thinks to herself: "This is wonderful. He's finally coming around and starting to be normal again. He actually wants to talk." Jennifer: Okay. Well, come on. We'll sit in the living room and talk. They walk to the living room and sit down beside each other on the sofa. Jennifer: What would you like to talk about? Sam: First, I have some bad news. Jennifer: Oh my God. What is it? You sound so serious. Sam: It is serious. You know Roger Wilson, right? Jennifer: Yes, of course. That's Dominique's brother-in-law. Sam: Well, he was murdered. Jennifer: Oh my God. When? How? Sam: That was Kyle on the phone a little while ago to tell me about it. I guess he was killed at the old Pottery Warehouse a few nights ago. The wake is tonight and the funeral is tomorrow morning. Jennifer: How awful! Kyle must be so hurt. Dominique too, all of them. Sam: Yeah, it's been rough. Jennifer: Oh God. I wish I would of known sooner so I could have been there for them in their time of need. I'm going to go right over there, right now. She stands up from the sofa. Sam: No, you can't. Jennifer: Why not? Sam: Because, right now, we need to talk about us. Jennifer looks at him strangely and then slowly sits back down. Old Station Wagon (Martin & Julia's Car) Martin and Julia are driving down the main road on their way back home. Martin: We should go back. Julia: Keep driving, Martin. Martin: I'm serious. Julia: So am I. Martin: Why are you so concerned about getting home? Julia: Because, in a half an hour "General Hospital" comes on and I haven't missed an episode in 30 years, I'm not going to start now. Martin: That's really nice Julia. I'm worried about our daughter's safety, when it's most in danger, and you're worried about missing a soap opera. Julia: Jenny is fine. She's not in any danger. Martin: I hope you're right. Julia: I know I'm right. They continue driving. The Velez Mansion (Library) Santa is sitting behind her desk and Jose is standing across from her on the other side. Jose: I'm worried about Lindsey. Santa: Don't be. She's fine. Jose: Are you kidding? She is anything but fine. Santa: Well, she'll get over it. Just forget about it. Jose: I can't help it. I can't just forget about something so horrible. Lindsey is hurting so badly right now and it's all because of us. Santa: For the last time, Jose, she'll be fine. She'll get over this and move on. Hopefully she'll start to date a man of stature, a wealthy man, someone that she has something in common with. Jose: That's not all, is it? You want the business that it'll most likely bring. Santa: The business mergers that take place when a member of one wealthy family and another get married, are just perks. You just get more money that you don't really need. That you'll probably never even see. Jose: I'm starting to think that it's kind of disgusting how rich we are. Santa: It's not disgusting. It's great. We get everything handed to us on a silver platter. Anything we ask for is ours. You've never complained about such things before. What's your problem now? Is your mother rubbing off on you? I'll kill her if she's brainwashing you into believing that money isn't everything. Jose: She's not. Santa: Well, if she is, I'm here to remind you that money is everything. You're nothing without money. Look at poor Jason Forbes. He was a nothing because he didn't have any money. He met Lindsey, the princess, if you will, of the wealthy and powerful Velez family. He must have thought of the money, but since he was nothing we didn't want him with Lindsey, which ultimately killed him. Jose: I have to go abuela. I can't spend another second here. Jose walks to the door. Before he can leave Santa calls his name. He stays with his back to her, but listens to what she says. Santa: Don't you turn your back on this family. It would be the biggest mistake you could ever make. Jose is scared and leaves the room, closing the door behind him. The Velez Mansion (Geovanna's Bedroom) Geovanna and Miranda stand across from each other. Geovanna: Would you please tell me what you're talking about, Miranda? What is it that I should have done a long time ago? Miranda: You need to get a detective to do this investigation for you. Don't take it into your own hands. It'll be messy that way. If you hire a detective to snoop around in Santa's past then you might be able to get some hardcore proof, not some fantasy about your mother. Geovanna: For the last time, Miranda… Miranda: I know, I know. It wasn't a fantasy. I can't even fathom how you actually believe that your mother appeared to you last night. Geovanna: Whatever. I'm not going to try to make you understand that what I saw was true, anymore. I know that it was real and I'm going to follow my mother's directions. Miranda: There's no getting through to you, is there? Geovanna: If you'll please excuse me. I need to get dressed and get my plan underway. Miranda: You don't even have a plan yet. Geovanna: I will after I get out of the bathtub. So, the sooner I get in there, the sooner I'll get a plan and be able to start. Miranda: Fine, just make sure that I'm no part of it. Miranda walks to the door and opens it to find Lindsey standing on the other side…crying. Miranda: Lindsey, what's wrong? Why are you crying like that? Lindsey: Is my mother in here, Miranda? Miranda: Yes. Lindsey walks into the room. Geovanna looks at Lindsey in shock by the way she is crying. Lindsey walks right up to Geovanna and wraps her arms around her. Geovanna returns to embrace and looks over her shoulder at Miranda worried. Lindsey: Mama. Oh, mama, it's horrible. Wilson Home (Living Room) Dominique and Kyle walk into the house and go to the living room. They sit beside each other on the sofa. Kyle: I'm so happy that you're all right. Dominique: Well, this broken arm isn't all right, but it'll be fine. At least the rest of me feel's fine. Kyle: You know, I'm really sorry for acting the way I did when I got to the hospital and saw that David Velez was there. It's just that I assumed he was responsible for you being there, and you know that I don't like the Velez's all that much. Dominique: I know, and it's fine. You had a right to be upset. You didn't know why he was there…but as soon as you heard his reasoning, you understood and you clamed down. I'm very grateful that it was David that was there with me. I mean, he saved my life in a way, because when we got into that accident I was unconscious and David was able to get some help and get me to the hospital even though he had a sprained ankle. Kyle: I didn't know that. I guess he's not as bad as they say he is. Dominique: He's not. And nobody ever said he was bad. There have been stories about his family, but never about him. Kyle: I know, but I just assumed… Dominique: I think you should stop assuming. You know what you're doing to yourself by doing that, right? Kyle: Yes. Let's talk about something else. Dominique: Do you have something on your mind? Kyle: Yes. Roger. Dominique: It's really horrible how he died. Kyle: He was murdered. Dominique: I know, honey. I just didn't want to bring it up. I know it makes you upset. Kyle: Damn right it makes me upset. I'm going to find the person who did this and make them pay. Dominique: As they should. Have you told your parents yet? Kyle: Yes, but mom says that dad's too ill to travel all the way over here for the wake and funeral. They're both devastated though. Dominique: I can imagine. When is the wake and funeral? Kyle: The wake is tonight and the funeral is tomorrow morning. I still haven't told Alexis and Matt. Dominique: It's going to be so hard on them. We better tell them soon, especially since the wake is tonight. Kyle: I guess it's time. Dominique nods and she stands up with Kyle and they head upstairs in search of Alexis and Matt. Quinn Home (Living Room) Jennifer: What do you mean, we have to talk about us? Sam: Exactly that. We need to talk about our marriage and everything that has been happening lately. I was hit with this sudden urge for closure when I saw you in the hospital. Jennifer: Sam, I think we should just forget about everything that happened. We can just start fresh. Live our lives normally, like we did when we first got married. Sam: We've been married for almost twenty years, Jenny. For almost five of those years I've turned my back on this family and it was all due to my accident that caused me to leave the police force. You know how that crushed me, and all of the bad things that we've been through since that, we've always just pushed them under the rug as if they never happened and everything is coming back to haunt us. We're never going to be able to live our lives normally, like we did when we first got married if we continue this charade, or whatever you want to call it. Jennifer: If we just forget about it all… Sam: No. We can't just keep putting it out of our minds, because they never actually go away. Haven't you ever thought of some of the terrible things that have happened between us? Jennifer: Yes. Sam: Then come on Jenny. Let's fix this and continue our marriage, as it should be. Jennifer: Are you really ready to do that? Are you over your…whatever it was. Sam: It was just a stage in my life that I would like to forget. Maybe it was post-pardon depression, maybe it was mid-life crisis, but whatever it was, it's going away and I want to fix this marriage right away, but in order to do that, we need to get everything out into the open. Put all of our feelings and emotions out on the table. Jennifer nods her head slightly and slowly, still in shock by what she is hearing. She looks at him. Jennifer: Okay. That would be nice. Hopefully this will work, because more then anything, I want us to be happy again, me, you, the girls, all of us. We need to be a family again. Sam: I know, and that is just what is going to happen. We're going to become a family again. Tears start to swell up in Jennifer's eyes and she smiles. Jennifer: You don't know how happy that makes me. To hear you say that. Sam takes Jennifer's hands and stands up. She stands up as well. They embrace. South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Megan's Room) Brittany: Poisoned? Jodi: Yes. But we're not sure how. It could be drugs, alcohol, and even food. There are just so many types of poisonings that we're not sure which it is. Do you know of any drugs that she was taking, medication or otherwise? Brittany: I don't think she was taking any medications and she's not the type to do drugs like marijuana or something. Jodi: Was she drinking alcohol? Douglas: She was a few nights ago at the club we were at. I don't think she knew what she was drinking, though. Brittany: I think Doug's right. Every time I told her that she was drunk, she would say that she wasn't and that she has never taken even a sip of alcohol. She kept telling me that all she was ordering was pop. Jodi: Which club let you guys in? Brittany: There's a club called Jack Flash that's for all ages. They serve alcohol, but we didn't know that they were serving it to people who were under age, as well. We thought that there would be some kind of a system to tell who was allowed to order alcohol and who wasn't. Jodi: I'm going to have to look into this club and see what's going on. If I'm not mistaken a girl was brought in last week and had alcohol poisoning, however, she died. She was a patient of Dr. Lewis' so I'm going to have to ask him a few questions about it before I diagnose Megan or look into what this club is up to and inform the authorities. I'm going to find Dr. Lewis right now and I'll let you know what I find out. Jodi leaves the room. Brittany: I know that we had to tell her the whole story, including what that club is doing, but I just hope we aren't put in any type of danger. Douglas: Why would we be? Brittany: Don't you remember what the owner of the club said? He told us to mind our own business and if we went to the cops or told anybody that could help in shutting him down then there would be a consequence. Douglas: Listen, we know the whole story behind what he was doing and if the cops shut him down and take this to trial we could be on the witness stand, but there is no way that he'll get off. He'll be put in jail and we won't have anything to worry about. First, let's just see what Jodi says after she looks into what the club has been doing, okay? Brittany: Okay. I'm just going to put that out of my head for now. Do you want something to drink? Douglas: No, do you? Brittany: Yeah, but don't worry about it. I'll go and get it. Douglas: Are you sure? You want me to come with you? Brittany: Stay here incase Megan wakes up or something. Douglas: Okay. Brittany picks up her purse from the table and leaves the room. In the hall she walks and turns a corner and bumps right into her mother. Velez Mansion (Geovanna's Bedroom) Geovanna and Lindsey are hugging. Miranda leaves to give them some privacy. Geovanna: Baby, what happened? I've never seen you cry like this. Lindsey pulls away from her mother and sits on the edge of her bed. Geovanna pulls the chair from her vanity and puts it in front of Lindsey and sits down. Geovanna: Tell me what happened to make you cry like this? Lindsey: God. How could they do this to me? I loved him so much. I really did…and they took him away, in an instant. Geovanna: What? I don't understand. I can't make out what you're saying, you're crying too much. Try and calm down, honey. Take deep breaths. Lindsey deeply inhales and exhales. She controls herself from crying a little bit. Geovanna: Okay, now tell me what you said, again. Lindsey: I loved him so much, mama. Geovanna: Who? Lindsey: Jason. I loved him…I really did and they took him from me. Why did they do that? Why? Geovanna: Who took him away from you? I don't understand. Lindsey: Abuela and Jose…don't you know, mama? They killed Jason. They killed him…right in front of me. Geovanna gasps and covers her mouth with her hand. She brings it back down and looks at Lindsey in shock. Geovanna: Are you sure? Your abuela and your brother killed Jason? Lindsey: I'm positive. They're the only people that had anything against him. We wouldn't stop seeing each other, like they asked, so they went to the extreme and killed him. How could they do this to me? Geovanna: Oh baby, I don't know. But, I'm going to get to the bottom of this to find out if they did in fact kill him. Don't you worry, we'll find out, one way or another, okay? Lindsey nods as she continues to cry. Wilson Home (Dominique & Kyle's Bedroom) Dominique is sitting on the edge of her bed. Kyle is passing back and forth in front of her. Alexis and Matt walk into the room. Matt sits next to Dominique on the bed and Alexis stands close by. Alexis: What did you want to tell us? Matt: Yeah. Are we getting a dog? Oh, are we gonna have pizza for dinner? Kyle: No, Matt. It's not good news. Matt: Is it sad news? Kyle: Yes. Alexis: Dad, you're scaring me. Mom, what is he talking about. Please, just tell us. Dominique: We will honey. Just sit down here with me, okay? Alexis sits on the other side of Dominique. Kyle: Okay kids. Something happened to your Uncle Roger. Matt: What happened to him, dad? Kyle: We won't be able to see him anymore. I don't know any other way to say this to you, but Uncle Roger died. Alexis lightly gasps and begins to cry. Dominique puts her arm around her. Matt: Daddy, you mean Uncle Roger is in Heaven with God, now? Kyle: Yes. That's where he went away too. Matt: So, we're not going to see him anymore? Kyle: No. Matt begins to sniffle and then starts crying. He runs to his father and wraps his arms around him, which is only at his stomach. Matt: I don't want Uncle Roger to be with God. I want him here. Kyle: I know. We all want him here, but that's the way God wanted it. Matt: So, we have to be happy that he's with God? Kyle: Yes. That's the best that we can do right now. Dominique: You know Matt, we're going to see Uncle Roger one more time before he leaves to be with God. Matt: Really? Dominique: Yes. Tonight we'll see him. Matt: Oh good. He can play one more game of go fish with me. Kyle: Uncle Roger won't be able to play go fish with you. Matt: Why not? If it's the last time I'm going to see him then I want him to play with me. That was our favorite game to play together. Kyle: I know, but Uncle Roger will be sleeping. Matt: Oh…in a casket? Kyle: Yes. Matt: Is that what everyone has to do before they can be with God? Dominique: Yes. Now, why don't you and Alexis go back to what you were doing for a little while before it's time to get ready to see Uncle Roger. Matt: Okay. Come on Alexis. Let's finish my homework. Alexis stands up, still in tears, and leaves the room with Matt. Kyle: Alexis is really taking it hard, huh? Dominique: Yes. But I think we did a good job of explaining all of this to Matt. Kyle: Yeah, we did. Now I just hope that Alexis can be strong enough to deal with it. Dominique: She will be. I'm going to make some dinner. Kyle: I'm going to stay here for little while. I need some time alone, to think. Dominique: Okay then. I'll call you when it's ready. Kyle: Thanks. They give each other a light kiss on the lips and Dominique leaves the room. South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Hallway) Andrea: How's Megan? Brittany: The same. Why do you care? Andrea: She's your friend. I worry about her as if she were my own daughter. Brittany: Like you worried about your real daughter when you went behind her back and told her boyfriend that she wanted nothing to do with him? Andrea: Listen Brittany, I'm sorry for doing that. Brittany: No you're not. I don't want to hear your crap anymore. I still can't believe that you and dad would do that to me. I can't even imagine what you have in store for Ryan. Andrea: I wish I… Brittany: Shouldn't you be working? Aren't there patients that need to be taken care of? Andrea: I'm off today. I was just visiting Jodi. Brittany: And bothering me. Andrea: Listen, I want you to come home, okay? Brittany: No. I'm happy living with Megan. My life is normal. I don't have anyone butting in it and trying to take it over. I told you time and time again that I wanted to lead my own life, but you wouldn't leave me alone. You were always pushing me to find a rich boyfriend so our dreams would come true and we'd finally be part of a wealthy family, and we'd really be accepted by the country club, and that whole crowd of people. But, you know what? I finally realized that wasn't my dream. It was yours and dads. But now, I do have a wealthy boyfriend, but that doesn't matter, because I love him for him, not his money, like you would. Andrea: Do you mean all of that? Brittany: Yes. Andrea: Fine. I'll leave you alone then. Brittany: Thank you. Brittany walks around her mother and continues down the hall. Andrea walks around the corner a little bit. Andrea: Thank you Brittany, for giving me the ammunition I need to continue my plotting. You think I'm finished? Well, you haven't seen anything yet. |
