South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Dominique's Room)
Dominique is lying in a hospital bed in her own private room. David is sitting in a chair close by. His ankle is all bandaged up. Dominique is sleeping. Dr. Shinto, a middle-aged man walks into the room.
Dr. Shinto: Mr. Velez, it's been almost twenty-four hours that you've been here. You haven't gone home and you haven't informed Mrs. Wilson's family of the accident. Don't you think they'll be worried?
David: Dominique doesn't want me to call her family. She told me when she was awake earlier.
Dr. Shinto: If those are her requests, then that is just fine, however, I don't quiet understand.
Dominique wakes up to the sound of two voices. She looks at Dr. Shinto and David.
Dr. Shinto: Hello Mrs. Wilson.
Dominique: Hello. Who are you?
Dr. Shinto: I'm Dr. Shinto. I'm stepping in while Dr. Blake is out.
Dominique: I see. What time is it?
Dr. Shinto: About eleven thirty at night. Do you want your family called? You've been here for a while and I'd imagine that they are worried about you. Not knowing where you are and all.
Dominique: Can we please have some privacy?
Dr. Shinto: Okay, then.
Dr. Shinto walks out of the room.
Dominique: David, have you come up with anything to tell Kyle when you call?
David: No, not yet.
Dominique: Well, we have to think of something. Him and the kids are probably going crazy not knowing where I am.
David: He's going to want to know why we were together. We can't tell him the truth and how will we be able to come up with a good enough and believable lie?
Dominique: I don't know, but I don't want them to worry anymore. I'd be a nervous reek if I didn't know where Kyle was for twenty-four hours. Wouldn't you be if you didn't know where Geovanna was?
David: I understand what you're saying. But we have to come up with something to tell him. I'm not one of his most favorite people in the world. He'd probably want to kill me if he found out that we were together and for what reason.
Dominique: We really have to think of something.
David: I might have something. This just might work.
Wilson Home (Kitchen)
Kyle is sitting at the kitchen table. He is talking on the telephone. Alexis walks into the room.
Kyle: I don't understand. How could that be? It's almost been twenty-four hours…That is not like her. She wouldn't do something like that…No, something must have happened to her and I want a search party…What do you mean…Damn you, what kind of town is this? A person is missing for almost twenty-four hours and all you can say is maybe she'll come back and that I have to wait until she's been missing for forty-eight hours…Goodbye.
Kyle hangs up the telephone. Alexis looks at him with watery eyes.
Alexis: Did something happen to mom?
Kyle: I don't know honey. I hope not. It would be horrible if something did happen to her.
Alexis: I want her to come home. This is not like her.
Kyle: I know, I know. I really worry's me.
Alexis: The police department won't do anything?
Kyle: They say that we have to wait until she's been missing for forty-eight hours.
Alexis: Don't they understand that mom wouldn't do something like this and for her to be gone without hearing from her for even two hours is strange?
Kyle: They won't do anything. I tried. I'm so scared now. I don't know what could have happened to her.
Alexis: Hopefully we'll hear from her or something about her soon. I told Amy and Vanessa to keep their eyes peeled for her.
The telephone rings. Alexis picks it up.
Alexis: Hello…Hi Amy…Yeah…What? Are you sure? Oh my God…Hold on let me tell my dad.
Kyle: What is it?
Alexis: Amy says that mom's car is parked outside Cup-A-Joe, but she's nowhere around there.
Kyle: How strange.
Alexis: She says that there is a parking ticket on it.
Kyle: Is she still at Cup-A-Joe?
Alexis: Amy, are you still at Cup-A-Joe? Yeah, she is dad.
Kyle: Ask her to get the ticket and see what time it says.
Alexis: Can you grab the ticket off the car, Amy? We need to know what time it was issued. Thanks. She said it says ten after ten this morning.
Kyle: It must have been parked there all night, but that doesn't tell us anything about where she is, but tell Amy I said thank you.
Alexis: Thank you so much Amy. If you find anything else out, will you call me? Okay…thanks…goodbye.
Alexis hangs up the telephone. She looks at her father.
Alexis: What now?
Kyle: There's nothing we can do. All we can do, really, is wait.
Alexis: I'm scared.
Kyle: Me too, honey, me too.
Alexis and Kyle embrace.
Megan's Apartment (Bathroom)
Megan is lying on the bathroom floor. Brittany walks into the apartment and her voice can be heard calling for Megan. Brittany walks to through the apartment and reaches the bathroom where she finds Megan on the floor with vomit everywhere.
Brittany: Oh my God. Megan! Megan! Oh God, what am I going to do?
Brittany reaches into the bathroom, careful not to touch any of the vomit. She nudges Megan's leg and continues to yell her name. Megan continues to lye there.
Cup-A-Joe (Tables Section)
Jodi and Anthony are sitting at a table drinking some coffee and talking.
Jodi: I still can't believe that you're actually here.
Anthony: I don't want you to get too excited, because then you'll be way too heartbroken to allow me to leave when I have to.
Jodi: Now, when is it that you have to leave again?
Anthony: In a week. I want to catch up with some of my old friends. I haven't spoken to so many of them in so long. Like Richard Lee and Jason Forbes.
Jodi becomes tense when she hears the name Forbes.
Anthony: I'm sorry mother.
Jodi: It's okay. I get like that every time I hear that last name. I always think of Paul and what could have been between us. You and Jason could have been more then just friends. You could have grown up as brothers.
Anthony: Mother, you've never told me that. Jason is actually your son?
Jodi: No. That's not what I meant. Never mind. Let's talk about something else.
Anthony: That's going to be hard to do. Look at who just walked in.
Jodi turns around and faces the entrance. She sees Paul walking into the coffee shop. She looks back and Anthony and sighs.
Velez Mansion (Library)
Jose is sitting across from Santa, who is seated in a chair behind the desk.
Santa: You wait until I get your papa. You just wait. He's going to be sorry that he did whatever it is that he is doing. He was gone almost all day yesterday and all day today. I haven't even seen your mama worrying about him.
Jose: I can't even imagine where he could be.
Santa: I don't know. But we can't worry about that right now. We have to focus on our plan. You know exactly what we're going to do right?
Jose: Yes, but I'm still very nervous.
Santa: There's no need to be. I know that this is going to be hard, but you'll get through it. You're a Velez. Just remember what you have to do and I'll remember what I have to do and everything will go off perfectly.
Jose: Why couldn't you just get one of your hit men to do this? This is the kind of thing that they're around for.
Santa: There wasn't enough time. Besides, like I said, you can handle this. Now, make your abuela proud to call you a Velez, and get out there and kill Jason Forbes.
Santa laughs. Jose gets up and starts to leave the room, looking at the gun before leaving.
South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Dominique's Room)
David: So, what's your idea, Dominique?
Dominique: It's really simple and he just might be able to believe it. We can say that my car broke down, and you were passing by and saw that I needed help. You asked if I wanted a ride home and I said yes. But on the way, we got into the car accident. It should work because we got into the car accident on the right side of the road and everything.
David: That sounds like it could work, if it wasn't for the fact that your car is at the coffeehouse.
Dominique: Yes, but Kyle won't know that.
David: I don't want to take the chance. He might have been looking for you and saw the car there already. I mean, you only live about twenty minutes away from there.
Dominique: I see your point. But, still, you can't just call my husband and say, oh, by the way, your wife is in the hospital…we got into a car accident last night.
David: I know. What are we going to do?
Dr. Shinto walks back into the room.
Dr. Shinto: Excuse me Mrs. Wilson. Your husband just called, worried sick about you. He asked the nurse at the front desk if you were admitted here. She told him yes and he's on his way over.
Dominique and David both become nervous. They look at each other in horror.
Cup-A-Joe (Tables Section)
Anthony looks at Paul as he stands at the counter. Jodi watches as he looks at him. Anthony turns to Jodi.
Anthony: I don't think I've ever been this close to my father before. I mean, we're in the same room and everything. It's strange.
Jodi: How is it that you think of Paul as your father? You grew up thinking that Brad was your father and when I told you that Paul was your real father, it didn't even effect you. Why?
Anthony: Because, I never loved Brad. I never thought he was a good enough father. When you told me the truth I was overwhelmed with joy. I thought it was great that I would finally have a real father.
Jodi: You amaze me. That's just so wonderful.
Anthony: Yeah, I guess so, but I've still never met him and I didn't end up having a real father after you told me the truth.
Jodi: I'm sorry.
Anthony: It's not your fault.
Jodi: No, it is. I should have just told everyone the truth right away. Then Paul and I could have been together and him and Lauren would have never gotten together and everything would have been perfect.
Anthony: Don't think that way mother. They way you did it was perfect. We are still able to live this high society life and Brad doesn't have any idea that I'm not his son.
Jodi: I know, and neither does Paul. But, we get to continue living this high society life and we know the truth. But poor Paul…he has to work in the Velez Factory and it's hard for him to even make ends meet. I wish there were something I could do for him. Something we can do for him.
Anthony: I think there is. I have an idea and I think it'll solve all of our problems.
Megan's Apartment (Bathroom)
Brittany continues poking on Megan trying to get her to wake up.
Brittany: Megan, please get up. Come on Megan. Oh God. I have to call the ambulance.
Brittany gets up from squatting down near Megan. She runs to the living room and picks up the telephone. Before she can even begin to dial there is a loud knock on the door. She goes over and opens it, cordless phone still in hand.
Brittany: Mr. Munch, can I do something for you.
Herbert: I was just wondering if something was wrong in here. I heard you calling for your friend. You screamed too.
Brittany: Oh…that…um…I, well, when I first came in I needed to tell her something really important, that's why I was calling for her. Then when I found that she wasn't here I screamed out of anger because I really needed to tell her something. You know how girls are.
Herbert: Do I ever. Well, if that's all then.
Brittany: That's it. Thank you for your concern though.
Herbert: All right then. Goodnight.
Brittany: Goodnight.
Brittany closes the door. She stands behind it and leans her head against it.
Brittany: I couldn't tell him what was really going on. He'd kick Megan out of here for sure, and wouldn't even think about giving me that vacant apartment down the hall. Now I can't call an ambulance, because then he'll know that I lied to him and that something is really wrong up here. God, what's wrong with Megan? What am I going to do?
She goes back to the bathroom and looks at Megan. She starts to move.
Brittany: Yes. She's coming too. Megan, it's me Brittany. Wake up! Wake up!
Megan opens her eyes half way and looks at Brittany and smiles. Brittany looks back at her concerned, as she doesn't look too good.
Velez Mansion (Lindsey's Bedroom)
Lindsey is standing in front of her mirror, dressed in a pair of black jeans and a white short sleeve, low cut top. She is combing her long dark hair. There's a knock at the door.
Lindsey: Who could that be? It's almost the time for me to leave. Why isn't everyone in bed yet?
She walks over to the door and opens it. It's her grandmother, Santa.
Santa: Buena noche, Lindsey. (Good evening, Lindsey)
Lindsey: Abuela. Can I do something for you?
Santa: Just coming to see how my granddaughter is doing tonight.
Lindsey: I'm fine. But, it's almost midnight. Shouldn't you be in bed?
Santa: Shouldn't you?
Lindsey: Yes, I suppose I should be.
Santa: You look like you're going somewhere.
Lindsey: No. I'm not going anywhere.
Santa: You're dressed. You still have make-up on. It's almost midnight.
Lindsey: I know. I was just about to change and go to bed.
Santa: Oh. I bothered you. I'm so sorry. I'll go now. Goodnight.
Lindsey: Goodnight, abuela.
Santa walks away. Lindsey closes her door and goes back to the mirror.
Lindsey: Now I'm running late to meet Jason. And, I'll have to wait a little while until abuela goes to bed.
Outside, in the hall:
Santa: Jose should be arriving at the park right about now. Soon Jason Forbes will be no more and Lindsey is going to witness it happen.
She smiles and giggles to herself and then walks down the hall.
Cup-A-Joe (Tables Section)
Jodi: What's this plan of yours, Anthony?
Anthony: Okay, listen. Brad has no idea that I'm actually Paul's son, right?
Jodi: Right.
Anthony: Well, then he'll never be able to get any proof either and since he probably hasn't even thought of the possibility, then he won't be looking for any.
Jodi: I guess you're right, but I'm not quiet sure I understand yet.
Anthony: Let me finish. You will remain being Mrs. Bradley Blake until the day that you finally decide to tell Brad and Paul the truth about my paternity. That way, you'll continue to live the high society life and by that time, I'll be making millions every time I even appear on television. I'm sure that once you tell Brad the truth he'll want you out of the mansion. He'll threaten you by saying that you'll be living on the streets, but you won't, because I'll be your safety net. We'll continue to live the high society life and everything will be out and it'll all be perfect.
Jodi: What about Christina and Edwin…what about Paul?
Anthony: You can take Christina and Ed, and Paul can come along too. I'm telling you. It's perfect.
Jodi: It sounds wonderful and I know we'll be able to pull it off.
Anthony: That's it then, it's settled.
They smile happily. Then Paul comes over to the table.
Paul: Hello Jodi.
Jodi: Paul, how are you?
Paul: I'm okay, I guess. A lot has happened between yesterday and today. I guess it's just starting to really get to me.
Jodi: Anything I can help you with?
Paul: No, I don't think so. I wouldn't want to intrude on your company.
Jodi: Oh, my company. This is my oldest son, Anthony.
Anthony stands up and Paul turns to him. They shake hands. As they are shaking hands, Anthony pulls Paul into him and gives him a hug. When Anthony lets go, Paul looks at him strangely and then at Jodi.
Megan's Apartment (Bathroom)
Brittany: Megan, can you hear me? Do you understand what I'm saying?
Megan's eyes are still only halfway open. She talks in a weak voice.
Megan: Yeah.
Brittany: Can you get up?
Megan: I think so.
Brittany: Okay. Come on. I'll help you.
Brittany takes Megan's arms and helps her stand up. She stumbles a little when she finally gets to her feet. Brittany continues to hold onto her.
Brittany: Just stand right here, okay? I'm gonna wash your face off.
Brittany gets a washcloth and wets it. She wipes around Megan's mouth and all over her face, to get the vomit off and just to clean it up.
Brittany: Okay, all clean. Now, come on. Let's go sit down. Watch out for the throw up.
Brittany holds Megan and leads her to the living room and sits her down on the couch.
Brittany: Can you tell me what happened, Megan?
Megan: Sick. I feel so sick.
Brittany: Okay, honey. But tell me what happened today. How did you end up in the bathroom? Do you remember?
Megan: No, I don't remember.
Brittany: I think I should take you to the hospital, okay?
Megan: Yes. Yes, please. I'm so sick.
Brittany: Okay, Meg. Just sit right here. I'm going to get some things ready and clean up the bathroom before we leave, okay?
Megan nods. Brittany gets up and walks back to the bathroom. Megan lays herself down gently and closes her eyes.
South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Dominique's Room)
Dominique: I can't believe that Kyle is on his way over here. What am I going to do? What am I going to say?
David: I don't know, but I can't let him see me here with you.
Dominique: You can't leave me!
David: I have to. It's too dangerous.
Dominique: No, you're not leaving. You can't leave.
Kyle bursts into the room. He runs to Dominique's side, not even noticing David.
Kyle: Dominique! Baby, I was so worried about you. What happened?
Dominique: I'm fine, really, I just have a broken arm.
Kyle: How did…
He notices David.
Kyle: David Velez? What are you doing here? Did you do this to my wife? I'll kill you!
David looks scared and Dominique looks at Kyle, fearing that he is about to kill David.
River Ridge Park (Closed Concession Stand)
The park is quiet and lightly lit by a few lampposts. Jason walks to the concession stand that is booming with business, when it's open. He stands there and waits for Lindsey to arrive. They had decided the night before that they would meet here. At the park entrance, Lindsey is just walking through. She is quickly walking down the path, so she can get to hers and Jason's meeting place. All of a sudden she hears four gun shots. She screams and jumps. She starts to run so she can get to the concession stand. She hopes that Jason is already there waiting for her. She needs to be embraced. She continues to run. She gets to the concession stand and stops dead in her tracks and looks towards the stand in horror. She screams and starts to cry. She runs over to Jason, who is lying face up on the ground. His eyes are open, but he is not breathing or moving. She kneels down next to him to cry over his body. She continues to scream, cry and call his name. Behind a large tree, Jose comes into view. A tear runs down his cheek as he watches Lindsey.
