Episode 18 - May 30th Black 2001 Mercedes Benz (David's Car)
David: Do you know the plan exactly? Do you want me to go over it again? Dominique: No, I've got it. But we only have to use it if worse comes to worse. David: That's right. Dominique: Okay. Can you take me back to the coffeehouse? David: Sure. David starts makes a quick U-turn on the dark road that they were driving down. Just as he turns and is facing the other direction a deer comes running into the road. David can't stop and he hits the deer. The car goes backwards. Dominique screams. David tries to get control of the car as it spins out of control. The car then flies off the road and explodes when it lands in the deep ditch. The car is upside-down and up in flames. Dominique's body down to her waist is lying lifelessly out through the passenger window. David is lying about five feet away from the car, also motionless. David's cell phone begins to ring. It is about two feet away from him. Abandoned Warehouse (Alley) Chief Carter is still standing near the Dumpster with Rogers' body behind it. There are now also other police officers standing around, as well as, paramedics, the coroner and crime scene investigators. Chief Carter walks over to a young woman who is part of the crime scene investigators. Chief Carter: Have you guys found anything yet Irene? Irene: No, not yet. We only know that John Doe wasn't shot in the spot where he is laying. He was carried out there. We're trying to find were the attack took place right now. Chief Carter: He's not John Doe anymore. I recognize him. He's Roger Wilson, Kyle Wilson's brother. Irene: Kyle…the firefighter? Chief Carter: Yes. That whole family is so nice and I always thought that Roger kept to him self. He seemed like such an honest, trustworthy and pleasant young man. Who would do something like this? Irene: We're going to do our part, but don't let this get to you so much that you can't do your part in it. Chief Carter: Yes, I know. But, if you'll excuse me, I think I'd better be calling Kyle. I'm sure he'll want to know about this. Chief Carter turns and walks away. He pulls out his cell phone. Wilson Home (Living Room) Kyle, Alexis and Matt are sitting on the living room couch watching television. A commercial interrupts the show. Kyle looks over to a sleepy Matt. Kyle: Hey Matt, it's time for you to get to bed. Matt: Awe, but dad, can't I finish watching the show? Kyle: You have to get to bed Matt. You have to go to school tomorrow. The weekend is over now. Matt: Please dad? Can't I just watch the rest of the show? I really like it and I want to see the rest of it. It's only on for a little bit more. Kyle: It still has a half-hour left. I don't want to hear another word about it. You're going to bed right now. Matt: Bummer. Mom or Uncle Roger would let me watch the rest of it. Kyle: Do I look like your mother…How about Uncle Roger? No, so you're going to bed. Matt: Fine. I'll go brush my teeth. Matt walks up the stairs and Kyle looks over to Alexis. Kyle: Where is your mother and your Uncle Roger? Alexis: I have no idea. I've been at the mall all day, but it's a good question. I mean it's not unusual for Uncle Roger to be out this late, but mom…she's never out this late, especially on a school night. Kyle: You're right. I'm really worried about her now. About your Uncle Roger too. Just then the telephone rings. Kyle picks it up. Kyle: Hello? Chief Carter: Good evening, Kyle, this is Chief Carter. Kyle: Hey…how are you doing? I can't remember the last time I talked with you. Chief Carter: Sadly, I'm not calling to shoot the breeze. Kyle: What do you mean? Don't scare me like that, when the chief of police says something like that it worries me. Chief Carter: I'm so sorry to tell you this, but your brother, Roger…he…he's been murdered. Kyle gasps as a look of shock and panic cross his face. Alexis runs over to him and looks at him scared. Jack Flash (Local Nightclub) Douglas and Brittany walk into the nightclub and sit down at a booth. Brittany is wearing a short red leather skirt with a three-quarter length, tight black shirt. Douglas looks handsome in his khaki pants and tight blue shirt that shows off his amazingly toned body. The club is lighted only by many moving neon lights of different colors. There are a lot of people on the dance floor and the sound system is blasting the latest Ricky Martin hit, "She Bangs." Brittany: It's really nice in here. I've never been here before. I'm glad you thought of this. Douglas: This is only my second time here, however, I liked it so much the first time that I just knew I had to come back. Brittany: I can see why. I've never been in a place like this before, so it is even more exciting. I had always heard about this place from people at school. Everyone always said it was awesome. Just then a waitress comes up to the booth. Waitress: Can I get you something to drink? Brittany: Angela…Angela Martinez? Angela: Brittany O'Keffe? Brittany: Oh my God! I haven't seen you in so long. How have you been? Angela: Good…good, it's about time you come around. I told you this place was great. Brittany: It really is and it must be awesome to work here. Angela: It is. I love it. It's like being at a party, but you're kind of working. But anyway, who's the hunk? Brittany: This is my boyfriend Douglas. Doug, this is Angela. Angela: Nice to meet you Douglas. Douglas: Nice to meet you too, Angela. Angela: Well, can I get you something to drink? Brittany: I'll just have a coke. Douglas: Absolute on the rocks, please. Angela: Coming right up. Angela leaves. Brittany: You ordered alcohol. Douglas: Does that bother you? If it does, I'll cancel it. Brittany: No, but she didn't ask for any I.D. Douglas: I'm sure she knows that I'm old enough. Brittany: I wonder. When she comes back, I'm going to ask for an Absolute on the rocks and if she gives it to me then I don't want to stay here because she knows how old I am. Douglas: How do you know her? Brittany: We were in high school together. Douglas: So, she must be the same age as you. Brittany: She is, but…oh my God. I didn't even think about that. This place gives alcohol to minors and hires people who aren't even old enough to drink. Brittany and Douglas look around and see all the people with alcoholic drinks even some who look awfully young. Forbes House (Kitchen) Paul stands across from Jason and Lindsey. Paul: What is it going to be Jason? I want you to make a decision right now. Are you going to stop seeing Lindsey or not? Jason: I already told you no. Paul: Then I want the both of you out of this house. Neither of you have any common sense right now. Lindsey: With all due respect Mr. Forbes, we do have common sense right now. We are the ones who are planning to stay together through all of this…we believe in our love and we know that we can overcome anyone and anything, including my family. Paul: When a wealthy young woman and a poor young man fall in love, the wealthy young woman's family is going to step in and do whatever it takes to break the two apart. You don't understand, because they haven't done anything so beyond belief yet. But, you wait and see, if you two continue seeing each other, then what's to come in this relationship is nothing like you've ever seen before, believe me. Lindsey: You sound like you're speaking from experience. Jason: He is. He's talking about his relationship with Jodi Prescott-Blake. Lindsey: You dated Jodi Prescott-Blake? Paul: Yes, but like your family, her family was against our relationship and they forced her to marry Bradley. They threatened me so many times, but we never listened to them and we continued seeing each other. That is until the day they…never mind. I'm just warning the two of you. Jason: What were you about to say, dad? You've never told me what the Prescott's finally did to break you and Jodi up. Paul: That's in the past. I don't want to talk about it. Jason: Dad… Paul: Don't try to change the subject. We are talking about your relationship with Lindsey. You've made your decision to continue seeing her, but remember my warning. Lindsey: I'm sorry, but maybe your father is right Jason. Maybe we should stop seeing each other. Jason looks at Lindsey in shock. He can't believe what he is hearing. Jason: So you're ready to give up on this relationship because of a silly warning from my father? Lindsey: Yes. I've always known that my family does whatever they have to do, to get what they want, and if they want us separated then they will find a way to separate us. I'm sure they can be even more ruthless then the Prescott's were when they tore apart your father and Jodi. Jason: I'm not giving up on our relationship. Don't you remember that we promised each other that we would always be together…that nothing would stand in our way? Lindsey: I remember. Jason: Then let's stick to that. Let your family try whatever they want to try, but they should know that it's not going to work. Lindsey: Okay then. We'll keep dating and we won't let my family, or anybody, ruin our happiness. Paul watches them as they kiss. They look at him, as he continues to look at them very disapproving. Jason: Don't you see that we're made for each other? Nobody can break us apart and you have to stop worrying. Paul: Then I will. Goodbye. Jason: Excuse me? Paul: You've made your decision, and the decision that you've made means that you have to leave my house. I hope the two of you will be happy, but I highly doubt it. Jason: So you're actually going to kick me out? Paul: Yes, because like I said before. I'm not going to risk my life for this puppy love. I just won't do it. Jason: I always thought that I could count on you for anything, that you'd always be there to support and love me no matter what. I guess I was wrong. Let's go Lindsey. Jason and Lindsey walk to the door. Paul follows behind. Paul: Where are you going to go? Jason: It's not your concern anymore and if you really cared, then you wouldn't be kicking me out right now. Jason and Lindsey walk out of the small apartment. Paul stands staring at the closed door. Paul: I hope they're right, because if they're not, then tragedy is going to strike very close to home. Abandoned Warehouse (Alley) Chief Carter stands near the entrance to the alley and sees Kyle pull up in his car and run over to him. Kyle: Where's my brother…he can't be dead! Chief Carter: The medical examiner is with him right now. We'll see if he is dead for sure shortly. However, I wouldn't count on it, because he didn't look too good to me. Kyle: How did this happen? Chief Carter: We're investigating and as soon as we find out, then you'll be the first to know. An elderly man walks up behind Chief Carter. Man: Chief Carter, can I speak with you for a moment? Chief Carter: Sure. Kyle: If it's about Roger, then I want to hear as well. Man: Very well. Mr. Wilson, I'm the medical examiner in this case, Dr. Lowell. I've just examined your brother and I'm sorry to say that he is dead. Kyle: No…no…how? Dr. Lowell: He was shot. The bullet went through his heart. Kyle: You have to save him! Dr. Lowell: I'm sorry Mr. Wilson, but there's no chance that anybody can save your brother. Kyle starts to cry. Kyle: He was my brother…my only little brother. Chief Carter: I'm sorry Kyle. Kyle: We're is he Dr. Lowell. I'd like to see him. Dr. Lowell: He was just put into a body bag. We'll be leaving shortly. I must be going now, and once again, I'm very sorry for your loss. Dr. Lowell walks away. Kyle and Chief Carter follow him. They look on as two men place the body bag in the back of a morgue van. Soon the van takes off. Kyle: I can't believe my brother is dead. This can't be happening. Chief Carter: I'm sorry Kyle. Will you be okay? Kyle: Eventually. Chief Carter pats him on his back and then walks away. Kyle: I'm going to find whoever killed my brother and they are going to pay. First, I need to see him one more time. Kyle walks out of the alley. The Ditch David's cell phone continues to ring. David begins to move and he then opens his eyes. He looks around for a moment. He goes to stand up, but he can't. He looks behind him and sees that the car is on fire. He finally hears his cell phone ringing and tries to reach for it, but he can't get it. He drags himself over to it. He gets to it, but it stops ringing. He looks at the car again. David: Dominique. Oh my God. Where is she? Dominique! Dominique! David continues calling for her. He struggles and is able to stand up. He starts to walk towards the car, but he is limping and it is a real struggle for him to stay up. He walks around the car. He sees Dominique hanging out of the passenger side door. He goes over to her and drags her out of the car. David: I have to get help. I'll call on the cell phone. He pulls the cell phone, that he had put in his pocket, out. He turns it on, but it goes off again, saying that there is low battery. He throws the cell phone down deeper into the ditch. Then all of a sudden he sees light from the road. It's a car. Two people come walking down the ditch. It's a man and a woman. David: Hi! Can you help us? Man: Yes, of course. What happened? David: We were driving down this road when a deer came out of no where. I hit it and was thrown into this ditch. Woman: I'll get the cell phone. The woman goes back up to the road. Man: That's a pretty bad fire that your car caught. David: I know. I hope the firefighters and ambulance get here soon. Dominique need's medical attention as soon as possible. Man: I'm sure they'll get here soon. The woman returns. Woman: Help is on the way. David: Thank you so much for stopping and for helping us. Woman: No problem. I would want someone to do the same if we were in the same situation. I just hope the ambulance gets here soon. I wouldn't want anything to happen to your wife. David: My wife? Woman: Yes…isn't that your wife? David: Oh, Dominique? No. She's just a good friend. Woman: I see. Well, I wouldn't want anything to happen to her. You look like you need some help as well. David: It's just my ankle. I think I sprained it…nothing serious. I'm just worried about Dominique. Man: Don't worry, I'm sure she'll be okay. I'll go and wait for the ambulance so I can flag them down. David: Thank you. The man goes up to the road. A tear runs down David's face and he thinks to himself: "Please, don't die Dominique. Please, don't die. Hang in there…you can do it." Jack Flash (Local Nightclub) Angela returns to the table with two glasses: one with coke for Brittany and one with Absolute Vodka for Douglas. Angela: Can I get you guys anything else? Brittany: Not right now. But I would like to talk to you about something. Angela: Sure, but can you hurry? My manager doesn't want me socializing. Douglas: If you get in trouble, I'll take care of it…don't worry. Angela: Okay…well, what is it that you want to talk about Brittany? Brittany: I noticed that when Douglas asked for vodka you didn't even ask for I.D. Aren't you supposed too? Angela: It must have slipped my mind. Brittany: And what about you working here? Aren't you too young to work in a nightclub where alcohol is served? Angela: What's with all of these crazy questions? Brittany: These aren't crazy questions Angela. I think that minors and other people who are under twenty-one are being served alcohol. That's not right. Angela: Nobody under twenty-one is being served alcohol. Why are you so worried about it anyway? Why don't you and your boyfriend just get up and dance? Have a good time. Brittany: We used to be very good friends in high school Angela. Just tell me the truth. Angela: I have to go. Angela quickly walks away from them. Brittany walks over to a few people sitting at a table. Brittany: Excuse me? How old is everyone here? Boy #1: I'm sixteen. Boy #2: I'm nineteen. Girl: I'm sixteen. Boy #3: I'm seventeen. Brittany: Is that beer? Girl: What's it to ya? Brittany: Answer the question. Girl: Are you the police? Brittany grabs the cup and smells it. She puts it back down and turns to Douglas. Brittany: It is beer. They served beer to a sixteen year-old! Can you believe this? Douglas: I don't think we should get involved. Brittany: This is against the law. This is horrible. Just then a man comes up to them. Man: Excuse me, I'm the manager here. I'm going to have to ask the two of you to leave my nightclub. Douglas: On what grounds? Manager: On the grounds that I'm the manager and I don't want you here. Douglas: Do you know who I am? He shines a flashlight into Douglas' face. Manager: Yeah, you're that rich-snob, Douglas Richmond Jr. Douglas: Rich-snob? Manager: Yeah and I want you and your girl here out of my club. Douglas: We're not leaving. Douglas and the manager stand in front of each other and stare at one another in a mean tone of eye. Velez Mansion (Outside Front Gates) Lindsey and Jason stand outside the front gates of the Velez mansion. Lindsey: Where are you going to go? Jason: Maybe I'll go to Patrick's house. He might be able to let me stay there. Lindsey: I can't believe your father said that he didn't want us seeing each other anymore. Jason: Neither can I. I thought that was your family's job. Lindsey: I know. It really seems like they'll stop at nothing to break us up. Jason: But we won't let them. Lindsey: That's right. Jason: You'd better be getting inside before they start to miss you. They might suspect that you're with me. Lindsey: Okay. Well, I'll see you tomorrow okay? We'll meet in the park, right next to the concession stand. Jason: That's the spot. I'll be there at midnight. Lindsey: Okay. Hopefully everyone will be out or sleeping by then. I'll see you. Jason: Bye. They kiss. Lindsey goes through the gates and Jason walks down the street. South Sea Watersdale Hospital (Examination Room) David is sitting on the edge off the exam table in the examination room. David: What is going to happen now? What will I tell mama and Geovanna? What will happen if Dominique dies? I have to call her husband and tell him what happened. But how will he react? What will I tell him? I can't tell him the truth about why we were together. I can't tell anybody why we were really together. It would sound crazy anyway. We were talking about how Matt is really a Velez and not a Wilson. Oh God. Kyle would hate Dominique for lying to him. What am I going to do? David rubs his hand across his forehead and continues to sit on the edge of the exam table. Morgue (Storing Room) Kyle walks into a dimly lighted room. There is a body on a table with a white cloth over it. He walks over and uncovers the body's face. It's Roger. Kyle looks at his tight, cold face. Kyle: Roger, it's me, Kyle. I can't believe that I'm going this. I never thought that I'd have to go through the heartache of having to bury my little brother. We've been through a lot together and I won't forget a second of it. Remember the tie that boy kept bulling you in the third grade? I was in sixth grade and I scared the daylights out of him so much that he never bothered you again. I almost got suspended. I would have done anything for you. You did a lot for me too. Like the time you saved my life. Remember how foolish I was to think that I could swim in the water off of Cass Pier? I almost drowned, but you got help and you saved my life. Kyle begins to cry. Kyle: I remember that I told you that I owed you. I never got to return the favor. I should have saved you from this. You shouldn't be lying here right now. What am I going to tell mom and dad? What am I going to tell Alexis and Matt? They all loved you so much. Just like I did. There's so much…" Just then Dr. Lowell walks into the room and turns on the lights. Dr. Lowell: Mr. Wilson…what are you going here? You shouldn't be here! Kyle: I'm sorry. I just needed… Dr. Lowell: I'm going to have to ask you to leave. Kyle: Can't I… Dr. Lowell: No! You must leave now. I can have you arrested for being in here. Kyle: I'm sorry. I'll go now. Dr. Lowell: Good. Kyle turns and starts for the door. He looks back and sees Dr. Lowell covering Rogers' face again. A tear then rolls down his face and he exits the room. Jack Flash (Local Nightclub) The nightclub manager and Douglas continue to face off. Douglas: Do you want us to leave because you're scared that we are going to find out your big scam? Well, too late! We've already figured out what's going on here. Why would you do such a crazy and stupid thing? Serving alcohol to minors. Manager: I don't know what you're talking about. You're the crazy one. Brittany: Don't worry. We don't want to get involved in this mess. That's why we're leaving and telling everyone we know not to come here. Don't think you're out of the woods yet, though. It won't be long until the WPD finds out what you're doing here. Manager: As long as you two nut-jobs leave and stop making a scene, then I don't care what you do, because like it or not, this is the most popular nightclub in this town. Nobody would ever shut us down. Douglas: Let's go Brittany. They turn to leave. They walk past the bar and Brittany stops dead in her tracks. Douglas: What's wrong? Don't you want to leave? Brittany: Yes, but look. It's Megan and she's with my brother, Ryan. Douglas: We should go over and tell them that they should leave. Brittany: Yes, but I don't understand why they are here together. They aren't really even friends. ~Flashback~ Megan is sitting at the head of Brittany's bed in her bedroom and she is standing at the foot of the bed. Brittany: I want to know what your little tantrum was all about. Megan: It wasn't a tantrum. I was just so excited to see your brother. He's another guy that's hotter then hot. Brittany: Meg, he's 18. Megan: So what? That's only two years younger! ~Flashback Ends~ Brittany: Oh my God. I bet I know exactly what's going on. Come on. They walk over to Megan and Ryan. Brittany: Hey. Megan: Hi Brittany. Ryan: Hey Brit. Brittany: Come on, its time to go. Megan: What? Brittany: They are serving alcohol here. Megan: Really? Megan starts to laugh. Then Ryan joins her. Brittany: Oh my God. You guys are drunk! Doug, will you get my brother and help him to the car? I'll help Megan. Ryan: We're not leaving. Go without us. We want to party. Brittany: The party's over. Douglas puts Ryan's arm around his neck. Brittany does the same with Megan. They walk out of the nightclub and up the sidewalk. Megan and Brittany are about five feet behind Douglas and Ryan. Megan slurs as they talk. Megan: You're spoiling all my fun. Ryan's too. Brittany: You're drunk Megan. So is Ryan. What do you think my parents are going to do when they see him like this? Megan: I'm not drunk, Brittany. Brittany: Yes you are. Megan: Whatever, just leave me alone. I just want to have fun with Ryan. That's all. You know how much I like him. I want to make love to him tonight. That's no crime, is it? They stop walking and Brittany looks at Megan in shock. Velez Mansion (Jose's Bedroom) Jose is sitting at a desk in his bedroom writing on a piece of paper. There is a knock at the door. He opens it. It's Santa. She steps into the room. Jose: Abuela, what is it? Santa: It's your sister again. Jose: What did she do this time? Santa: She is still seeing that boy, they haven't stopped seeing each other. We've done everything, haven't we? Jose: Yes. Santa: Where is your papa? Jose: I don't know. Isn't he in the mansion? Santa: I can't find him anywhere. I wonder where he could be. Well, I suppose I can give you this mission. It may be a bit advanced, but I'm sure you can handle it. Now, you know that we've tried to separate Lindsey and this boy for quite some time now. Nothing seems to be working. Even the boys' father finally told them to stop seeing each other, but they didn't listen to him either. Now, this is what we're going to do. This is the last and final resort to breaking them up. I overheard them talking and they plan to meet each other tomorrow at midnight in River Ridge Park. I will stall Lindsey so she gets there just in time to see her lover boy get murdered. Santa looks at Jason's shocked reaction and she can only…smile. |
